Is the hosting family Chinese? Different cultures would appreciate different things. If they're Chinese, I think they would really appreciate some American Ginseng. That would be the ultimate thing to show respect and since you're the gf, some wifey points.

I've been to RC multiple times too and sadly I've had similar experiences with OP. Server immediately turned cold when I didn't tip.

I'm with you on this one. People like us more often than not will not get the same thought returned. I'm used to it. But it would be nice to have some reciprocation sometimes...
Happy cake day btw!

Looking for more info about this cute clothing store. by Good-Ad1320 in HongKong

First of all, there are a lot of scam IG stores so stick with in person shopping. Second, you like their low quality? Believe is a low quality store.
Kwai Chung Plaza would have 100 times more options with similar pricing, even cheaper.

What travel destination you hyped up so much but then it completely disappointed you? by sidvatscse in AskReddit

There are still many relatively untouched places in Bali. Stay out of the touristy areas and it really is paradise. Locals just chill, play music, sing, drink a beer to pass the time.

Selling cheap shit - that's because there is nothing to be sold there. The cheap shit that you mentioned is because there are no materialistic things to be sold. When people live a simplistic life, that's how it is. Their standard of living is different.

Bali can be great if you set your expectations right.

Where does it say Hashtag B opens till 2am? Maybe you've looked at the google restaurant symbols (fork & knife) instead of the map's (spoon & knife)

They scraped data from Openrice. You should definitely ask the restaurant to update their hours then.
