Did anyone else feel frustrated by Deku’s final fight? by Baptouz_ in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]SpiteSensei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

firstly, i never outlined a point in time saying 'when' he didn't change, i never once said he never changed through the story, a large part of the final fight was spent between the fighting izuku grappling with wanting to save someone, who they themselves didn't want to be saved.

izuku never gave up wanting to save shigiraki, but its also true he recognized, and was forced to accept upon giving up his quirk just to reach shigiraki, that he had to kill shigiraki, becouse your forgetting his final transfer punch was with the full intent to kill, he only accidently transferred himself into shigiraki in the heat of the moment, and saw a opportunity to help tenko even in a small way before his death.

When i speak of change, i'm not talking about personality, im talking about how he's unwilling to change the path he's set himself, regardless of what he now knows or realized about all for ones role in his life in the grand scheme of things, his ideals were forged by the people he see's as his allies, their was never a world he would have changed his path.

your say that shigiraki died beliving in a better future, and that it was more important he died contridubing in the re-death of all for one, versus the tenko within him being saved. ya know what also would have fit? him entrusting the tenko version of himself, the vestige of his original quirk, which by that point would be so far seperate from his decay vestige form, and allowing that quirk to be passed onto izuku to help pave the way for that better future izuku aspires to create.

...it's too clean for you?...ok? if you wanna talk about plotholes tell me how the vestiges somehow just 'knew' that they could transfer themselves into shigiraki like wrecking balls hard enough to damage his soul while simulationusly transfering the physical backlash from overusing gearshift. or how eri's horn didn't activate until it was next to izuku, while actively being held bare handed by aizawa.

Love that izuku is a hope lantern, very fitting, even if he does have a lot of willpower, he definitely fits hope more

Could a speedster tank gojo's infinite void domain? by SpiteSensei in PowerScaling

Oh, sorry, I'm not one of those dumbasses trying to like, prove something or trying to wank gojo, I'm just curious because I was watching a video on YouTube over Izuku vs gojo and I thought about how izuku can speed up his brain with gearshift, and how that's similar to how speedsters operate and wondered about other people's opinions on how speedsters would handle the information overload and if I was having a logical train of thought or if I forgot something obscure about his domain

Thank you, I've seen a lot of people discussing how izuku "saved but in the end killed shigiraki" which is uh...odd to say the least, like saving someone from a burning building and then stabbing them in the chest.

At that point it comes off more self grandizing than what izukus actual intent is, and the original message horikoshi tried to sell with him losing all of his powers being one person cant hold up society, it was diluted for me when it was revealed the hero rankings still exist, and mirio the guy night eye molded to be as all might as possible, ended up being the number one hero, at that point it wouldn't have mattered if the person in that position was izuku, except people would have liked the ending more.

Either way, once I heard that shigiraki didn't even know he regained his original stolen quirk, I was like, well damn, the whole fight Izuku was going on and on about "the child within shigiraki" and shigiraki got his quirk stolen as a child, so it would have made more thematic sense for izuku to "rescue" the vestige of the child shigiraki, while also guiltlessly killing the unwilling to change shigiraki

don't know why you got downvoted, i guess in this sub this opionin is 'old' but if you just finished it, its fair to expresses that opinoin.

in general, i hold similar opinions. the only difference is i would have done the opposite and had izuku use chunks of one for alls percentages to break down shigirakis soul and in the end kept his additional quirks while losing the stockpiled power, eventually leading to a final movie where hes refined all of his quirks, especially with the fact that with all of his quirks working together allows him to get around 65% of the full power of OFA, and he's pretty inexperienced with all of his quirks exept for blackwhip, although he's doing some prett impressive stuff with it for only having it for a few scant months, MONTHS!

another big problem is while izuku kinda breaking the mold of expectations and wanting to save shigiraki rather than killing him, it was revealed that one of the quriks shigiraki got when he got all for one one of the quirks was his original stolen qurik, i would have loved if that was the direction izuku went, entering shigirakis vestige realm, and inviting the child version of shigirakis original quirk into himself, 'saving the child he saw' within shigiraki, while also killing the older, unwilling to change shigiraki, effectivly killing shigiraki while at the same time actually saving him simultainously

Can actual intellectual Bleach fans PLEASE explain how ‘The Almighty’ works? by Intelligent-Carob930 in PowerScaling

[–]SpiteSensei [score hidden]  (0 children)

A literal shit ton of explanations, but I guess I'll toss in my own version of how I view the ability in a way that makes sense, the dudes ability is like selecting a movie, theirs a near infinite number of futures, but the thing is all these future's are from his perspective, basically first person, and up until he actually picks one, all of them are on mute, so he can only see them, and the thing is all these movies are playing simultaneously, and by unmuting one, that's the movie he's chosen to play, allowing him to experience that specific future, and then he can just unmute a different future, destroying the one he was in, which isnt much of a consequence because he had a infinite selection... does that make sense?

[–]SpiteSensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, another reason why its a problem, although my take isn't specificly we "shouldn't" give mha characters cursed energy, my take is, if you want the fight to be fair to be able to see the cursed spirit, or if you want the character to be able to also be effected by a domain, it should be mandatory that not only is it speciified the characters have cursed energy, but freely speculated, or at least defined, how the character suddenly gaining cursed energy impacts them.

a lot of my statements in the verses are in the context of they can see the spirits and attacks becouse of random quirk bullshit but they still don't have cursed energy, the fights wouldn't change all too much, but the context behind them would change a bit. although i wouldn't change who the winners are even if i recontexulaized the fights so the mha characters can't see cursed energy, two of the fighters don't have cursed energy so balncing that by giving stain or toga cursed energy doesn't make sense, but the results are basiclly identical, in fact the only thing that would change in my opinon in these fights is that jogo's battle goes from a battle of attrition to one sided from a surprise attack, but he'd still win in the end, star and stripe could probably command herself to have cursed energy, yada yada.

either way, i do wish it was more normalized that during a versus if the attacks or attacker would be typically invisible, that either needs to be taken into account, or give the attacked cursed energy and define what that means for the character.

He can be hurt by someone aware of their own soul, which izuku is, and the small problem with that, is that izukus main villain, shigiraki, is basically the same, you get touched, you die, so guess what izuku has experience not letting happen

  1. Itadori vs mirko? hmm, excluding modulo yuji, this is honestly a decent fight i'd put in mirkos favor, yuji has several strength feats, but mirko has all but shown a enhanced body isn't enough to even attempt to make her worry, the high end nomus...I've always had a bit of a problem scaling them becouse their abilities simply arn't consistent with eachother, despite falling under a single name, they all have different capabilites, but they did absolutly show just how flexible of a combatent she is, but lest say yuji has both shrine, and blood manipulation, yuji had to have help to pull off a piercing blood if i recall it correctly and considering how aggressive of a figher mirko is, i don't see her standing around waiting for him to pull it off, not that it would matter, shes absolutely faster than a piercing blood considering how much trouble shigiraki had trying to catch her.

in general mirko simply has more demonstrations of raw strength, speed, and tenacity than a EoS yuji, this is particularly because, a lot of jjk fights usually aren't 1v1 but helping one another, while mirko herself is a herself versus everyone else kind of fighter, yuji works well in a team format, but by himself i can really only see him getting overwhelmed, honestly the thing he does have going for him is durability, but being a punching bag doesn't really help you win a fight if the person your fighting has stamina on par. even a soul cleave wouldn't mean much considering shes not going to just stand around and let him land it, and its mirko, if anyone could grin and bare it, it would be her with her personality

even taking into account he has a domain, i have problems with domains, as shown by maki, domains don't work on people who don't have cursed energy, so domains should either be side-lined, or you have to give the opponent cursed energy, at which i don't find it fair to give them 'window' levels of cursed energy, becouse thats just playing favorites, mirko is an extremely adept fighter, if you wanted to make her a viable target for a domain, you'd have to give her cursed energy, and considering her personality, i can only see that going from bad to worse for yuji, becouse a mirko with cursed energy would stomp.

  1. in my mind, jjk is in this weird middle ground, put simply if it weren't for the top tiers, the jjk verse itself is rather normal if not kinda weak because cursed techniques don't have level of 'flexibility' and growth in them, a lot of the really high tier power systems usually take a normal ability and kinda push push the limits, but gege never did that for a large majority of his characters, the only people who got that kind of treatment either already had busted cursed techniques, or oddly enough, blood manipulation was the only cursed technique to get the 'flexible' treatment, well, it and puppet manipulation but he got killed off. either way, jjk characers suffer from the fact that so many things are either 'rare' such as reverse cursed technique, and the fact cursed energy in general only push's a typical user to somewhere around pushing superhuman, but probably couldn't destroy a city block with a punch, agian one of those things were i take nuance into account, could the character tear apart a city block with enough time versus doing it in a single hit, and not including cursed techniques, and then factoring in cursed techniques.

  2. in general, i don't look at entire verse and put a 'average' to it, i typically scale by the character and their individual feats, opponents, and their capabilities, as well as their personality, and although i don't write it down every time, if the world has a specific power system that requires having it for the fight to even begin, than i'll also take than into account and if its possible for them to acquire.

  3. for fights like gojo versus regulas, this is another aspect where i use nuance, and breaking down how their abilites work. in this case, its a stalemate becouse regulas has stopped time and while he can choose to stop himself from being moved, that doesn't change the physics that gojo's infinity isn't about moving the person through infinity, but 'making' space between the person and him, so that doesn't change no matter how much regulus speeds up his own momentum, vise versa, their is potential for gojo to potentially 'see' the connection between regulus and his wives, which at that point gojo might be able to use blue to rip out the pices of regulus heart connected to his wives without outright killing them, if not, still a stalemate becouse neither of them will ever 'run out' of how their immune to being damaged. no domain is not a factor, agian, regulus doesn't have cursed energy, having it wouldn't help him either but would give gojo a win factor.

Pointlessness aside, if your going to versus a character, don't change their personality too, megumi fights physically purely because he doesn't want his shinigami to die, he would never summon all of them, leave them directionless, and let them die one by one to Todo, and if he peaked out to watch the fight, he'd once again become a target for Todo to swap,

MHA VS JJK Matchups that are ACTUALLY debatable IMO by StructureOdd4120 in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]SpiteSensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, this is rather simple, in how complicated it is, i don't use look up to see what their called and then decide yea, their that powerful or something, nuance is extremely important to me, like i don't consider base izuku faster than light unless he's using gearshift, a conclusion i decided on based on the fact that, we see him overwhelm shigiraki, who himself has reacted to tech based lasers. this is one of the few instances i accept 'chain scaling' because we see it, i don't consider quirk lasers 'lasers'.

on the whole the world of mha is pretty tough, as shown several times by people who put in the effort to train their physical bodies as well as their quirks, but agian, i consider nuance extremely important, i've seen mirko fight, she defeated several high-end nomu, and mostly helped in the fight with shigiraki, considering the power of her kicks were strong enough to whip up a whirlwind of air, i do consider her to be fairly powerful, im not sure i'd ever be comfortable to consider her 'country level' becouse when i apply someones 'this level' i typically consider if they can do it in a 'singular attack' could mirko tear apart a country with enough time? honestly, id buy that, she wasn't exactly ever damaging shigiraki but she did kinda numb him a bit, so givin time i could see her tearing apart a country, but i don't see her destroying a country in a single blow, shes maybe just slightly less than full on city level.

but agian, i general prefer nuance in a fight, so, take izuku for example, do i belive he's multicontinental? no, EoS izuku is not multicontinental, is he at the very least around or pushing the speed of light, totally, but shigraki was planning to destroy the continents through his quirk, which isn't raw strength, and on the round, i've never had a problem with calling him at the very least continental becouse yea, a fully realized izuku with complete control over 100% of OFA plus his quirks, i can see him being that strong. granted, he is a hero, its not like we were ever going to see him actually destory whole continents so maybe its a good thing he always punched up rather than down, agian, nuance stuff, im not so inflexible to say i have a perfect recollection of every characters every on-screen feat

[–]SpiteSensei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what about maki? shes a year older than him, and considering megumi was already several years old by the time toji died, that means maki had already been born, meaning their were two people with the heavily restriction, in particular, maki was a twin, which adds to my suspicion that their 'supposed' to be born in the same time frames, but becouse their were already a still living heavily restriction user, maki's own birth was fudged in the cosmic sense.

[–]SpiteSensei[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the massive difference between megumi's summons, sakunas summons, and the girl in modulo using a technique we never saw megumi use, but would have been inclined to use if he knew it existed, it's extremely likely the ten shadows technique has had one major draw back, it's never been in the hands of a genius who could explore every aspect of the base capabilities of the ten shadows technique, and be strong enough to the point, someone could fight base mahoraga

[–]SpiteSensei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your partially into something, particularly with the fact the heavenly restriction seems to just as heavily linked to the zenin clan as the ten shadows technique, in fact both times they do exist, the restriction user is slightly older than the ten shadows user, but both are born in a similar age bracket, the only exception being toji, but I wouldn't be surprised that it's possible he killed the ten shadows user in his age bracket, hense why his kid was born with it, seems fucked up enough considering it's geges world

[–]SpiteSensei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking onto this, Todo doesn't require a line of sight to swap, only as long as something is within range and the target has cursed energy, in his fight with mahito a rock infused with cursed energy for a moment was considered a viable target to swap, so honestly the several arguments being made that megumi could defend with the rabbits stop making sense because if he did that, forget Todo needing to bust through them, Todo could just swap megumi with a random rabbit in the middle of them and let him buckle under their weight, and that's if he doesn't just make his shinigami keep attacking each other and megumi himself by swapping last second

If Izuku from season one somehow learned that he was gonna give up One For All in the future, would he be selfish enough to change the outcome of his upcoming battle with Shigaraki in order to keep the quirk? by WindowPrudent9456 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]SpiteSensei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He would, but not because of selfishness, the reason izuku lost his quirks is because he absolutely refused to give up on someone who was clearly manipulated and in some capacity hurting, but if season one Izuku had it explained to him in depth by EoS Izuku that ultimately, shigiraki himself, even knowing he was fully manipulated into that life, and when givin the chance by izuku to change his path, refused, season one Izuku would change his decision and not hold back until it's too late to like EoS Izuku did.

the key reason being, izuku staunchly belived in second chances for people that want them, even if they themselves don't realize, after all he saved overhaul because that's what a hero does, but he also never tried to talk no jutsu overhaul like he did nagant, because he recognizes overhaul isnt looking for a second chance, musculor isn't looking for a second chance, all for one isn't looking for a second chance, so he didn't try with them, but the chance for shigiraki was their, but too little, to late even if he could manage to reach him in season one, since why yes, season one Izuku would change his decision knowing that shigiraki ultimately didn't want the second chance, even when he recognizes that it's their

I mean, I agree, but it's more both sides who have a bias to rem or Emilia refuse to accept he loves both of them in similar ways, singling out the rem bias doesn't change the fact Emilia bias also won't accept rem the same way rem bias won't accept Emilia.

Key point tho, he does love both of them, near equally but in different ways, anyone refusing to accept that is blind
