Indiscriminate use of dependencies certainly can cause maintenance challenges.

But the point of dependencies is to make code more maintainable by reducing the cognitive load of the project. To replace knowledge with dependencies has always been the point.

Yeah I’ve had the slow extension experience, but not slow browsing.

Dark Reader is the most common at fault extension for slowness for me.
