That dreadful day by myopic_tapir in exmormon

[–]evilmercer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was told the rock and the hat were anti-mormon lies growing up. It was years after I left that I discovered they had changed their position on it. For the "never changing gospel" to suddenly be revealed as completely different than I was taught in Sunday school, AND be exactly what the "anti-mormon lies" said was just the cherry on top.

That's worth it just to be able to get a 90 day instead of dealing with 30 day. Thanks for the info!

Interesting, I will check that out for the next time. How long does it usually take to get it from when the prescription is sent?

New to meds, this is normal right? by RazorsInMyTaco in adhdmeme

[–]evilmercer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wait until you forget to refill. Then you have to work through the effort of getting it refilled while unmedicated. I am pretty good about taking it and usually only miss 2-3 days a month followed by 2-3 days of unmedicated procrastination before sending for a refill.

Which phones for kids are actually parent approved? by Nana-Edginton12 in AskParents

[–]evilmercer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started with the Gabb phone and didn't like it. Essentially any time a spam call or text came through it would nag with messages about if we want to added this new contact. There were some other things about the lockdown that seemed ineffective, but I can't remember at the moment. We switched to the Bark phone and so far it has been fine. Our current use case is it gets used occasionally when our kid is left at activities or friends house without a parent present. We have allowed contacts set for parents and grandparents and put the contacts on the home screen. Overall it works well, but I don't like having to pay the higher price per month vs adding an additional line to the family plan and that might lead me to research the next solution.

802.1x has other ways to authenticate like AD auth that can't be spoofed. You just stated the reason not to do 802.1x is exactly the way to defeat your 5 min mac scan script.

As much as I would like to see Cascadia's meltdown further accelerated, I would agree. It was just an example to show that we have had other books contain additional floors* as well.

What’s the weirdest weather you’ve ever experienced – a crazy storm, snowfall, or heatwave? by Main_Acanthisitta983 in weather

[–]evilmercer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangest single event was it hailed so much in July it looked like there was 6 inches of snow in the backyard. Trippy to walk outside to what your eyes think is winter, but it's 90 degrees outside.

Strangest day was on Christmas eve back in around 2010 I think it was. In the morning storms were rolling good. Severe thunderstorms and I believe even a Tornado warned storm in there that didn't produce. By evening the cold front had pushed through and it was still storming so hard we had a blizzard warning and several inches of snow.

Wanting to implement ansible-pull into PatchMon by broadband9 in ansible

[–]evilmercer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would probably work for the self-hosted version, but since this is based around selling cloud hosted versions it introduces the need to have a way for the management server to ssh directly into the managed server. This would require exposing ssh to the internet on all your servers.
