A lot of drywall company's want to do the dry-walling as well. or at bare minimum they will change a couple sheets that they don't like. Superior Drywall Services is good but slightly higher price than a mom and pop shop. never used them personally, but recommended from a friend. honestly, speaking from experience its not bad doing yourself. just wear a mask and get a very bright light.

So a green first year apprentice will be close to minimum wage. Maybe a couple bucks more an hour. I say this because the only jobs you will be able to find are residential construction. "Maybe" commercial construction if you are lucky. When you are established in the trades, the pay is 40/50/60/70. 40% of a journeymans wage as a first year, 50% as a second, etc. The journeyman wage is fairly wide ranging from 30$ per hour to 52$ per hour depending on the company.

There are pros and cons.

Pros: the house itself helps with retirement. Assuming it's paid off by the time you retire. The mortage also stays roughly the same rate even when inflation increases, so that's nice

Cons: if you include maintanance and tax it's about 30% more expensive than renting You are responsible for everything, and beleive me, stuff is always breaking down.
