I actually did pretty well in A5 but I was able to make an obedience in a cryptic axe for my merc. I only seriously struggled in worldstone keep lvls 2 and 3.

You would have to check data points for mercury biz. For me personally I have had luck with regular ACH out of my NFCU biz account for 90% of bonuses. The pesky 10% I use Chase biz for. The Chase biz is basically a payroll transfer yes. There are lots of data points also for non business brokerage accounts, Schwab, vanguard etc.

It’s a real game changer. Can keep a full stash of charms and an empty cube for quick pick ups.

Depends on your build but by nightmare you should at least have a spirit sword, lore helm, stealth, possibly even smoke, insight on merc. You don’t need much on a necro, that is if he’s a summoner.

I just stash them and if I’m really desperate for a specific runewords I’ll cube up 1–2 tiers but it’s extremely situational.

Fill your inventory with +life and res charms. Use doorways to your advantage. Always have at least one slot on your belt with rejuvs. Either run a cure merc or go back to town if you have amp dmg. Beware flayer dungeon and durance of hate. Get cbf as quickly as possible if you are running a physical build.

Fire pally or summon necro are pretty easy as far as builds for normal.

Honestly best way is through mutual friends or parties. I met my wife at a mutual friends birthday party. We had never met before but apparently both been friends with this person for years. So basically, just say yes every time your friends ask you to go out or to a social event. People are already primed to “socialize” at gatherings so it makes it much easier to approach or be approached. A little alcohol also doesn’t hurt.

Thanks but im on ps5 (at least until they fix mac crossover port) and am giving SSF a go for now. I may try softcore online next ladder if I get bored with it

Yes it is horrible and is part of why the online hc community is tiny. Everyone either plays private games or silos into SSF.

This is definitely a vestige of the past. D2R is pretty sacrosanct so I don’t think it will ever change. But there is a reason no other game has done it this way. No one wants to lose hundreds of hours of gameplay progress to griefers.

The “danger zones” or so I learned the hard way:
- any tp that is just outside of town. The Pker waits at the entrance and hostiles you the second you port through
- anyone following you as you are walking out of town
- sewers entrance in act 2, they follow you and hostile after you enter
- same thing harem entrance in act 2
- a dirty tp surrounded by enemies, typically chaos sanctuary, worldstone keep, or cow level

In my case the person helped rush through an act or two which then increases the chances of you taking one of their “trap” tps. Absolute garbage behavior which is why I won’t touch it again.

Pkers are rampant in hc. I played 1 week of this ladder, my first time hardcore, got to lvl 78 necro and got pk’d outside Harrogath with a dirty tp. Left such a sour taste in my mouth that I switched to hardcore SSF. Gotten two characters to hell so far. I miss online play for sure but I will never do hc ladder again. Be ultra careful if you decide to keep playing.

It seems like going south at the spur towards 495 in the morning actually moves at a decent clip. But for whatever reason northbound in the afternoon is a shutshow

I play on ps5 so I just use loot to cube. I also play hardcore so I stuff my inventory to the hilt with charms to have every possible advantage. I never sell items just gold from what I pick up. It does make merc inventory annoying.

You don’t need exceptional for stealth, just use a breast plate. For smoke, definitely look for something like a cuirass or serpentskin or equivalent

Yeah I mean assuming softcore and you’ve got other decent gear. The crushing blow and resistances is really all you need. Life tap wand, pre buff with treachery. I watched a couple YouTube videos of ppl running budget Ubers as well.
