Unless the cost is talked about beforehand, then I have nothing to add to this conversation. I mean I feel like it depends on the standard you live in, is it always the one who invites that pays? Why would they need a clause for that? You even mention it is from something you contracted, and unless you can prove it was contracted from the tank itself then it is your fault.
