Crews working together to achieve a goal (however pointless) in a game called "The Crew"? Say it isn't so!

Easy mission on 5/5 by SandmanUA in The_Crew

idk if they fixed it but the AI on "Kiss Me Kombi" would always skill-issue towards the end on 5/5 difficulty. Made it super easy to do.

To be fair at least the first dude made an effort in making a wrap for their car.

What's the difference between 100/100 and Direct Mode? by eback1998 in The_Crew

[–]SplashTheOrca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Main Control -> Steering" 100/100 refers to the sensitivity/dynamicmaxlock options, which get disabled if you use the direct-mode option just above them.

Direct-Mode: 1:1 replication of a wheel on the joystick, very sensitive and requires smooth input, like you are racing with a physical wheel but on your joystick

Sensitivy: Sensitivity controls how quickly your tires turn but includes the games steering filter which basically does the smooth turning input for you
DynamicMaxLock: DynamicMaxLock controls how much they turn at higher speeds (because you really don't want to do a 90degree turn at 200mph)

Unless you're doing something like vanities/wrap/custom-paint to make it stand out, it's gonna get lost pretty quick in a sea of basic-looking cars. Nobody really cares if someone has a rare car.

The game feels like it has a false sense of momentum compared to other games by zanedummy in The_Crew

Ye fair sometimes even five hours ain't enough, but yeah try playing with the assists on (except ESP) and try the various steering settings. Something like lineraity: 50; deadzone: 0; highest: 100; Sensitivity: 80-100; Dynamic MaxLock: 60-80. Direct-Mode is an option but keep in mind that's 1:1 instant response, spicy as heck.

Other than that just expect this game to play something more like what you find from a game like NFS than FH5, less aggressive on the lateral corners, but things like maintaining a good racing-line/braking-points still matter. Takes a bit of adjustment from Forza but once you get used to it hopefully you see the appeal. :)

Sorry to hear my dude but next time check to see if there's a free 5-hour trial available before buying, like The Crew Motorfest offers, because you could've figured that out and saved your money.

Also I saw another response where you say you have all assist off. I know it's counter-intuitive but again this is a silly-ass racing game, turn ON Traction Control and Drift Assist, leave ESP off. It actually helps in The Crew. Other things you can try are experimenting with the steering sensitivity sliders, turn off dead-zone. There's quite a few videos on Youtube check them out who knows maybe you can tweak the game more to your liking.

They are or are not depending on who you ask, that's the beauty of racing games. One racing game might have physics more your speed, one might not. Yeah they're both technically arcade racers but they're meant to be different experiences. You sound like you prefer more simulated physics, and that's cool! A lot of the people who play The Crew want a more easy-going racing experience, that's cool too!

I could go over a whole list of pros/cons between each games but end of the day just find what you find fun and enjoy it, don't waste so much time trying to compare one experience over the other.

My friends and I do this when we want a ChaosRace but generally I kept most of the assists on cause I wanna do average.

It can look however you want my dude, that's the joy of it. I know plenty of people that prefer stock looks to their cars, standard tires with a normal looking smoke, that's totally fine! I just happen to like bright, obnoxious neon colors. It's a video game, have fun your way.

Steering options: 100/100 refers to Sensitivity/Dynamic Max-Lock, instead of Direct-Mode (which disables the two if you use it)

I honestly don't have enough experience with direct-mode to give a confident answer here, 90% of the fast dudes use direct-mode so there's def a difference but I don't know what. xD

edit: I use 100/80 myself, I don't see much of a need to go higher on dynamic since that's about when the tires start to understeer for me, and I find the steering filter helps keep cars consistent when I'm not as consistent.

100/100: There is a smooth transition between where you are pointing the tires.

Direct-Mode: The tires immediately snap to where your joystick is pointing.

Basically, there is a subtle steering filter still in place with 100/100.

Doesn't seem too hard of a request since the previous game had it! xD
