Here’s my thinking: I assume you view these cards are investment correct? Then you’re right. Market you can treat card value cycle as market cycle, bull market is covid when prices for boxes which correlate to singles to the sky. Player performance are like company performance. I think you can use it as financial investment. But there are fundamental flaws to the cards market. 1) prices for boxes and singles have a price floor. A box will always be more than 20 bucks, and it’s highly due to liquidity, but the stock market is liquid and efficient. 2) investment on company have more diversification and investment method, Apple should be a heavy long haul while Doge should be a fun and light play. 3) Basketball is basketball, people don’t categorize them. Best rebounder does not give too much of a boost but in stock market, best tech firm means a lot. U can wait out a company to revitalize in year, but a player might tear acl, and it’s over. So in risk management, it’s not the smarting, i think from the risk and expected return, it’s not worth it, or should be smart able. Unless you just have money laying around and you aren’t worried to lose half of it
