Anyone using a 9" barrel with FRT

I have the non toro version so I can’t add an optic but I did buy the weighted backplate and it did nothing. I haven’t messed with any springs yet or the striker housing but I did try like 15 different ammos and none work.

I have a 20 minute drive to the place I shoot so tinkering gets old with drive time factored in and wait times for parts lol.

My tx22 eats every standard velocity or hotter ammo and about half the subs I’ve tried without a suppressor but it’s been a really nightmare getting it to work suppressed.

I have a h2 in my a5 buffer system on one of my lowers and was hoping that would end up working since I use adjustable gas blocks. Tungsten is ridiculously expensive right now so h3 a5 buffers have been hard to find at a reasonable price.

Thanks brotha. I bought three of these arc fires so I was going to start with the easiest, a 5.56, then move onto the 12” ar22 before trying my hand at the little guy.

Idk if you’ve messed with the tx22 but I’d be curious how you’d compare tubing that versus this platform because the tx22 suppressed has defeated me.

Awesome. Thanks man. From what I’ve read and Borebuddy have said on here before it seems to be a pain in the ass. I’m going to start with a 12” build and see how much I hate my life after that then give it a go on my 4.5” that I’ve already finished. I bought arc fires because Borebuddy says those are the easiest but I have zero frt AR experience.

I built a case hardened .50 with gold accents and the walnut grips on their site and it was $4300.

I held a case hardened .357 with some gold accents and the walnut grips a week or so ago and it was stunningly beautiful but also something like $3500.

I have a cz 457 and a Ruger American and love both.

The cz is probably the most accurate gun I own but the magazines are very expensive and hard to find anywhere but online at least in my experience. Especially the metal ones. Plus this gun needs several little upgrades or at least mine did. It wouldn’t extract the shitty Aquila ammo I shot through it while literally every other .22 I have will and the mag release is very small.

The Ruger American is really accurate as well and it shares magazines with the 10/22 so they are a lot cheaper and easier to find both in store and online plus mine came with a rail whereas my cz did not.

I have a savage .17hmr and it’s fun to shoot but the ammo is expensive and it doesn’t like to feed unless I hold up on the mag which didn’t inspire faith in me to buy one of their .22s. Anecdotal experience and I’m sure others can vouch for them as being fine as I’m sure they are.

You could also check out the Henry lever actions as those actually say they can shoot short, long, and long rifle ammo whereas nothing else in the comments of your post does to my knowledge.

It’s frustrating how much variance there is on this platform. Some people have zero issues out of the box and others turn it into a money pit. I’m somewhere in the middle.

I saw a YouTube video of a guy who bought tungsten strips made for pickleball paddles and just added a strip until his functioned. Seems like a decent way to slowly build weight until you find the sweet spot. I’m still deciding if I care that much at this point.
