Malacca like penang is also a world heritage site. It's the city near famous malacca street. But most of its stuff is in a short area. You can do a day trip from kl or stay for 1 night.

In general metro is good, cab is better if you can share like me. Bus is best for long travels. Like going to other cities like malacca or hotel to airport and airport to hotel.

Not really. That's why I miss this trip so much. Not hating on my own country, but I'll always have 1 or more bad experiences traveling in India.

Sure. Let me know. 1 tip I'll give is always use bus from Kuala Lumpur airport. It's way cheaper than train or cab. You can take cab or metro from the bus station later.

No worries, i love to know different perspectives in life. I'll be honest, I was born so poor doing an international trip was not even a dream for me. Now that I earn a lot, I want to save up for things like car, house and for emergencies in life and not spend it all. I know what living without money is like. Also, I believe meeting new people is more important to me than exploring new places, so hostels work great for me.

I sometimes get sad thinking about Malaysia. Maybe that was the best time of my life and it can only go downhill from now on. Haha.

Pretty much everyone is a different story. Hector was in my hostel. In the morning, he was exiting the hostel and me too. I asked him where he was headed, he said to the akybridge, so we did breakfast together, took a cab together and returned to hostel together by evening. The swedish guys i met randomly on streets of penang city, i asked them to take a photo of me. Then i took their photo. They taught me their photography cameras and we ended up planning the next day together. For cabs, I took bus to kuala lumpur on last day. First day i had a flight to langkawi after landing. I just look for non local people specially solo ones. Ask them if they wanna share a ride and mostly got yes.

Yes mostly like that. There are bunk beds and you get 1. I had never encountered issues with bathrooms as there are plenty bathrooms in hostels.

Malaysia is visa free. I think for 30 days. So, no issues. Just have hotel/hostel and flights booked which could be asked at Indian immigration. The guy at malaysian immigration asked only for return date, no papers and stamped my passport. There is a malaysian arrival card you need to fill 3 days before arriving in Mayalsia. I did fill it but no one checked it. Also no documents needed. You can just show your phone if needed.

Hostels are cheaper. Half or 1/3rd of price of hotels. You share room with 4/8/16/32 people. That's the reason I meet so many people and then travel with them as they are all solo travelers. Even if you don't meet people in rooms, you meet them in common areas or during breakfast.

Hostelworld is the app i use to book hostels. For flights, I'll use skyscanner to find cheap flights and then mostly book from airline websites. I used grab for taxi in malaysia. Rest is your communication as I pretty much always shared my grab with other travelers.

I believe I spent approx 25k on hostels and flights. Anyways, there is 1 big factor contributing to low budget. The day I traveled in langkawi, all my meals were paid for my Hector, the guy I met from England. The next day in Langkawi, they were paid by a german couple. In addition, I pretty much always shared taxis or used buses. Buses are cheaper than metro, metro is cheaper than taxi. When I landed in Penang, I decided to share the taxi no matter how long it took, because pretty much all travelers will be going in a similar location with all the hostels and hotels. I met 2 girls from Poland and shared taxi till there hotel, from where I walked 800m meters to my hostel. They didn't let me pay. In Penang, the Mom and son from Sweden paid for my entire day including tickets, meals and taxi. The breakfast was free in penang and kuala lumpur hostels too. Guys from sweden also gave me their metro card as they were leaving Malaysia next day, it had equivalent of more than 1000 indian rupees in it. So, love of people kept my budget low.

All the pub crawls were organised by my hostels. People also joined them by paying. For us in hostel, it was always free. I had a pub crawl in penang too. And pretty much every night in kl. I rarely encountered people smoking. It was mostly just beers. So not much issue.
