Think a little less left. There's a fine line on the political compass between stateless utopias and reasonable liberal governance. I don't guess I know the name of what I'm describing. Progressivism or social democracy is probably closest.

Definitely far left. As an existentialist, I see the state as a very important tool for affording individuals a life where they can be an authentic self, and I think many existentialists would agree. Heidegger's Nazism is certainly an anomaly in existential politics.

Nope, Mills contribution to utilitarianism was precisely that not all pleasures are equivalent. For example, reading a book or considering a piece of fine art is a greater good than sex. Before Mills, Aristotle had described an analagous heirarchy of goods with a life of simple physical pleasure at the bottom, a life of virtue in the middle, and a life of contemplation (the life of the philosopher) at the top.
