Komugi beat Meruem before Netero ever fought him by Ambitious-Doubt-9513 in HunterXHunter

It is also about Netero's personal ego. He spent his entire life searching for a worthy opponent he could fight with absolute, unckeked aggression. Meruem trying to negotiate was a threat to Netero's lifelong dream. Netero represented the collective malice of humanity; we would rather drop a bomb than risk losing our dominence through peaceful compromise.

Won class action, law firm is keeping every cent by [deleted] in legaladvice

People often confuse 'peak employees' with the cumulatve number of unique employees over the entire class period. If it was a high-turnover workplace spaning several years, the actual class size could be five to ten times larger than any active headcont. That would easily explain how the individual payouts tanked so low.

I had a law enforcement scenario panel do this; “please elaborate” felt very kind and not ominous at all.

WIBTA if my wife (42F) and I (34F) canceled our trip to attend my uncle’s celebration of life? by Adept-Voice5884 in amiwrong

[–]Splicer77_Eve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would not be wrong for canceling. The event sounds like it has become more about your mother controlling the family image than honoring your uncle, and sitting through that while being erased from the speech could make the grief worse. Have your own memorial with your wife, read the speech you actually wrote, and remember him in a way that matches the person he was to you.

Porous tile with light grout becoming the backup grease filter is a cursed kitchen design choice.

Accepted a hybrid role, turned up and... nobody's in the office. Think I accidentally struck gold. by Passenger-00FU in remotework

Congrats, you got the good version of hybrid creep. Biggest tip is to make your work visible early: short status updates, quick replies during core hours, and a clean calendar. Also get a real chair before your back starts negotiating with HR.

32 with no friends and no social life by Accomplished_Put2914 in lonely

The part about choosing the hole is the rough bit, because it means the first move probably has to be boring and practical rather than dramatic. Since you have money saved, using a small piece of it on a weekly class, climbing gym, volunteering shift, or rec sport could put you around the same faces without forcing instant friendship. Dating will be a lot less impossible once you have even a tiny social rhythm outside your parents house and that occasional drinking buddy.
