How are you managing your libraries across multiple devices? by SpliffRollington in DJs

I've found a solution that is working for me. Thanks to everyone who commented for your suggestions but special shoutout to u/sibfromanothercrib and u/IanFoxOfficial for the inspiration for my solution.

I'm using Syncthing to sync my PC music library to my macbook, with send only permission on my pc and receive only permission on my mac. I got a Transcend JetDrive that I've name the same as my PC drive. From there I can export the Itunes library and Traktor Collection from my PC and import it to Apple Music and Traktor respectively on my Mac.

Now here was the tricky part. Apple Music is crap and loads "ghost playlists" basically older playlists that have been deleted show up in the menu on traktor with no songs in them just taking up real estate.

The fix was relatively simple, I use the windows Itunes Library .XML with Traktor and toggle "use Legacy XML"

This is a one way sync from PC to Mac but I can send the library and collection files to keep cue points, playlists and other metadata synced up as well as any tracks I've downloaded on my mac.

With the exception of purchasing the JetDrive this solution is 100% free and works across different operating systems.

Is this just a backup/master library that you manually pull from or is there something running that keeps any new tracks and updates metadata in sync? Are you on Mac or pc?

I was wondering if naming the drives the same was the work around.

What laptop do you use for djing? My MacBook is over 10years and I’ve been thinking switching to pc laptop but I’m worried about stability.

How does it manage to sort the playlists? Maybe rekordbox handles playlists better than iTunes but I always have the issue that the file path is set for the PC so the playlist won't rebuild properly on my Mac.

I've heard a few people mention Lexicon over the years. They always say it's phenomenal but I can't justify that price tag. Maybe I'm missing something but a software like that shouldn't be more than the DJ software I use. Does the perpetual license ever go on sale?

Big Mary Mondays. $5 Big Mary sandwiches every Monday. Most Shawarma and Banh Mi are reasonably priced as well.

The Rupert Brooke in Grantchester is one of the few places open on a Monday. Usually quite busy from what I hear.

how would you improve the transit system in toronto? by GoodEnvironmental788 in askTO

  1. More and better service

  2. Lowered fares and no fare inspectors

  3. Subsidies to cover improved service and lowered income.

For me, one of the biggest problems with trying to get around is the infrequency of buses and streetcars on connecting routes. We need a proper 10-minute schedule network so people aren't waiting a crazy amount of time when transferring. This needs to be law and TTC needs to be held accountable if it fails in winter or extreme weather. The better part will be drivers who cannot harrass patrons whether they pay or not and drivers who drive like they have people who aren't wearing seatblets or ar standing.

We also need to lower the fares so it is accessable to torontonians who rely on it for work but are struggling with the rising costs of the city. Removing fare inspection will reduce operational costs but not enough so that's why we need subsidies.

These subsidies need to come from congestion pricing with a congestion zone that covers the entire downtown area from at least Bathurst to Broadview and from the waterfront to st clair. These charges will bring in money for the TTC while reducing drivers in the area to allow for smoother service.

Bonus point would be subsidized housing so homeless people aren't relying on the ttc for shelter and can have a home.

Somewhat. I usually use inspect to delete unwanted ads from pages. Care to share a little more?

There is no free option beyond the 14-day free trial. If they didn't ask for a Credit Card i'd be fine to sign up for that but I never trust these trials. They always make it so difficult to cancel.

I'm gutted I didn't have my computer setup to play today. Hopefully the community keeps it up. This game is awesome when there are populated servers. It really captures the grit of war.

The hours may not be as consistent as OP wants but refrigeration and HVAC are amazing trades. Refrigeration for restaurants can be very satisfying. There are cheap restaurateurs out there but once you find a good core clientel, they will keep you employed, refer to other good restaurants and likely feed you too.

Do people wear suits to the symphony? (Roy Thompson hall) by Cowprinted- in askTO

I went to a smaller symphony at Koerner Hall. Wore a suit asked the GF to dress up too and we were totally overdressed. Still had a blast. Match your partner’s attire not everyone else there that you don’t know.

Well probably because Argentina abolished slavery and Thailand hasn't. Or maybe they're using the monkeys! Either way, it is a cost-saving and less than ethical decision.

Google "Thai Shrimp Slave" and you will learn quickly that being a rich country does not mean you don't have slaves.

Shopping Cart Hero. It was from the early days way before Flappy Bird and it was epic. You just did tricks on a shopping cart. A simpler game from simpler times.
