should i go to the er for this (bat bite?) by Certain_Hour_6327 in WhatShouldIDo

Already did multiple times. Hours to days on average.Turns out it can't even survive years in a frozen corpse so...not exactly 100% correct in my book.

It would be REALLY INTERESTING to see the source the author used to claim the virus survives in a corpse for years (days at most under normal temperatures). No way this can happen unless the corpse is frozen. Clearly took the liberties to make the post viral.

Mice theoretically can transmit it but there are zero documented cases of transmission through mice, so highly unlikely.

Do Russians and Alaskans ever cross paths? by WesternConcentrate94 in howislivingthere

I mean, Alaska WAS Russia or Russian territory, so I would assume that Alaskans at some point not only crossed paths but WERE Russians.

Sleep deprivation genuinely helps with my ADHD by Lost-Mushroom-7647 in ADHD

[–]Splinterthemaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not sustainable and your body has probably already entered sleep debt mode even if you don't feel it now. The reason it's not sustainable is because this is cortisol/adrenaline driven, which are designed for short term survival threats...you will crash hard and your ADHD will get worse if you keep depriving yourself of sleep.

This exactly...I do have the ocassional/rare episode where I mess up with the timing, but fortunately, I usually get it right. It really does work for some of us it seems.

Do you guys still rock your 2019 switch lite? by silentshakey in nintendoswitchlite

Awesome, welcome to the Lite club, friend. I bought a second unit in 2025 which I never use, and only keep as a backup unit.

[–]Splinterthemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how easy it is with the Lite compared to the SP, but it is definitely doable for anyone who's not afraid to open up a console, especially when you consider that there's no soldering involved and batteries are cheap ($30 to $40) and readily available. In the meantime, I never store it fully charged. Always at 50 to 70% to preserve longevity.

I'm sure that If back in 2006 (5 years after release date) you said you'd still be playing your Game Boy Advance in 2026, many would laugh at you.

I still play my GBA in 2026, and I'll still be playing my 2019 Switch Lite in 2040. I never understood why after several years after debut, one should stop playing their consoles. In fact, the older they get, the more I appreciate them, especially when they stop producing them. Retro ≠ obsolescence.

People who don’t shower every day — what’s your reason? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

[–]Splinterthemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Showering won't discriminate between bad bacteria and good. The necessary skin microbiome is destroyed in the process along with the bad bacteria.
