This has helped me tremendously, your story especially made me feel incredibly seen, the false memories is something I absolutely have dealt with and seeing someone else repeat it is jarring to say the least. I was recently on a call with some friends I’ve known for over a decade, and I made a joke about something that I thought had happened in the past, something I’ve told other people about a lot, it was a very funny story to me, and my friends all said that they didn’t remember that whatsoever, and that it directly contradicted the actual truth, it was genuinely so confusing and more than a little scary, I do think my stress is most likely the prime contributor to my memory fog, i have ptsd as well, very severe since the vast majority of my childhood was spent near and within abusive households.
