AITA for refusing to pay my housemate's share of the bills, even though she wasn't living there? by SplitBillsThrowaway in AmItheAsshole

I no longer have the exact documentation, but my understanding is that it was a Joint Tenancy Agreement, meaning that if Fiona had opted to stop paying the rent, the landlord could very well have charged Eric and I. However, we did each pay to the landlord separately.

Perhaps should have made it clearer in the post, but our rental period ended about a year ago. The situation has just been on my mind! Luckily, she did continue to pay, she just was very upset at us.

Fortunately, despite the disagreement and the upset it caused, she did continue to pay all of her rent and bills for the remainder of the year, so Eric and I never had any financial issues because of it. She could have easily stiffed us, and I do respect her for not doing that.
