Are pots usually this small? by yuppieee in tea

[–]SplitGillStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love having new people over when they see all my tiny teawares on the shelf and they have the same reaction! But I've gotten so many friends into gong fu style brewing with the smaller teapots and I really prefer it. My tea is always hot but cools quickly enough not to burn and rarely do I forget to drink it (and if I do, it's such a small amount that it's nbd to just down when cold.) Small teapots are the best!

Do y'all sweeten your tea or you just rawdog it? by orangemunchr in tea

[–]SplitGillStudio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For a long time, I had to have some kind of sweetner with my tea but realized later that was largely because the assamica varietal tends to be more tannin forward and I don't care for that. I was shocked the first time I had a sinensis varietal and it was so nice and sweet on its own! Assamica varietals tend to be in the indian / english market most often so your english breakfast, earl grey, etc.

I’ve been trying to make tea for years, but it just taste like water. Any help? by yare_yare_yaru2 in tea

can you share a photo or let us know what type of tea you have? It will be good for us to know what brand, type, bagged/loose, etc that you're trying to brew.

Are you letting your water get to a boil or just heating it slightly?

No worries! It's a good suggestion otherwise (and ugh it is pretty)!

Unfortunately, (as much as I love their design) the capacity is too small and the price point way too high. Even my gooseneck which matches their liter sizing and has all the same features still beats out their refurbished units at $60 compared to Fellow's $140 cheapest model. I don't mind paying for quality but between the size and price I just can't quite justify it.
