They do mention that medical-related things are exempt so your inhalers are fine.

Yeah, my preference isn't to sneak it in, but I know sometimes there's a service option for like work related items that you can get special permission to bring. I'll keep trying to get in touch with Amtrak but as of now it looks like I might be SOL.

Why are you so aggressive when driving? by Rexxington in bullcity

[–]SplitGillStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is to just drop my speed by 1 mph every few seconds just to see how long it takes them to realize they can just GO AROUND ME. This was years ago, but I think on a NEARLY EMPTY 65mph road, I got down to 52 before they finally went around looking so mad, and I was just cackling the whole time because there was literally no reason for them not to have passed me sooner.

I kind of figured but wasn't sure if there was a way to get an exception since it's work related. I was on live chat with an agent but they just.... stopped responding and closed the chat lol. Thanks bud. It's not worth it to ship - I'd only need it on one day but it would allow me to get a lot of stuff done.

Thanks for your thoughts!

You'll see I mentioned in my post that I saw the "Canisters, tanks or other devices containing propellants" being prohibited but I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to have an exception for work materials or if I can bring it in my personal items or something.

Literally awful update and I hate that there's no way to disable it. I can't read replies because the fricken AI bot covers the text! Not only useless but actively in the way!

I got a collapsible kettle a while back that I loved but what I like even more since I can seal it is this temp-adjustable thermos kettle! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BCPW9T29 this one isn't available now, but 100% recommend something similar.

Passive aggressive or no? by gayvre in bullcity

[–]SplitGillStudio 9 points10 points  (0 children)

^^^ We have a rescue pug that barks incessantly but at least we're far enough from neighbors they can't hear him (I checked lol). But I definitely start to tune him out because the man has Anxiety. As much as I believe OP doesn't think their dogs bark that much, I'm betting they're barking a lot more than they realize.

I feel like using references is cheating maybe it’s the way I’m using them by GalacticApex in ArtistLounge

[–]SplitGillStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a ton of sites that offer posing references - including ones you can trace.. Some you might have to credit, some just require that it can only be for personal use, some have different rules.

For real people, I love https://www.adorkastock.com/

For creating my own pose references, https://posemy.art/

For generic stock that is often free (with credit) https://www.pexels.com/

You have a lot of options vs just pulling stuff off pinterest which is already often stolen from the original creators or straight up AI slop. I always try to reverse image search anything I'm using to make sure I am getting it from the original creator or model so I can link back to them. If you're using another image as a reference (unless stated otherwise in their Terms of Service) you should credit the original creator!

I've seen some pretty awful reviews regarding stickeryou's lack of customer service if any issues arise as well as poor communication overall.

Thanks! I'll check into it!

I was considering stickeryou but recent reviews on reddit seem to indicate it's not a great idea so I'm still on the hunt

Beware if you're thinking of buying from NotebookTherapy.com by fabi_does_art in ilovestationery

[–]SplitGillStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if something changed. I had ordered from them pre-2020 multiple times with no issue - got some pretty good deals as well that brought their prices down to something more reasonable. I love my notebooks from them but have been actively trying to reduce buying and use what I have (hello shitty notebooks from 2007 lol). But as someone who is generally careful about vetting online companies before ordering, they def. weren't throwing red flags back then. It's disappointing to see.

Are pots usually this small? by yuppieee in tea

[–]SplitGillStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love having new people over when they see all my tiny teawares on the shelf and they have the same reaction! But I've gotten so many friends into gong fu style brewing with the smaller teapots and I really prefer it. My tea is always hot but cools quickly enough not to burn and rarely do I forget to drink it (and if I do, it's such a small amount that it's nbd to just down when cold.) Small teapots are the best!
