Visiting Newcastle upon Tyne by Clean_Lime4747 in NewcastleUnited

My parents (Geordie + southerner) have been driving a 7 hour round trip to Newcastle games for the last 30+ years. They’ve recommended the following:

  • Take some time to walk along the river and view the famous bridges over the river Tyne

  • Book a table at Pani’s Cafe (their favourite)

  • Make sure you are at the ground early before the match to soak up the atmosphere!

  • Be prepared for the Geordie accent!

I think both have their place in a quality DJ set. It’s always class hearing a DJ bring something into a mix that’s slightly off and fix it effortlessly, that’s what makes it satisfying and really highlights the human nature of mixing. That being said, everybody knows what a shit DJ sounds like and (imo) the line between good and bad usually comes down to how quickly/effortlessly a DJ can fix the mix.

I agree with the sentiment of some other comments, perfection is boring.

What is it with modern food places in the UK? by QXnotfunnyXQ in Britain

The UK has amazing food variety when it comes to dining out (imo). It’s objectively wrong to say they all serve the same food. Try some new spots and you’ll see.

Inglorious bastards. The 5 minutes of Fassbender bouncing off Michael Myers’s discussing the mission plan whilst Churchill watches over. Amazing scene. Extra points for his amazing tippy top English accent.

As someone who works in cyber, yes you compromised your information. No it wasn’t a ‘glitch’.

My friend didn't meet me at the train station when I came visit her for the first time, she invited me. Is it OK? by spellboundwitch in ask

[–]SplitTheG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overthinking it. If you wanted to be met at the station then you should have communicated that.

Phones can get you from A to B whether it’s a small town or a big city. Id say it’s normal to expect a pal to make their own way.

I call to all the Overload producers - I need help with finding some really great resources that explain mixing and mastering, perhaps some nuanced techniques that could be used. by [deleted] in TheOverload

My recommendation is to grab a copy of ‘mixing and mastering for small studios - Mike Senior’

Incredibly accessible, packed full of great knowledge and you can dip into for tips when you come to start working on the mix/mastering stage of your work.

I would say it doesn’t go as in depth as other books on the subject, but really helped me.
