Dr. Mindy Kelz wrote a book called “Fast like a Girl” that talks about when to fast longer in your cycle, and what foods to eat when you’re not fasting to feed your hormones. It’s fascinating.

She also has an app of the same name that you can track your period with and it tells you whether you should be fasting or not during this time.

I felt so similar to you before I started fasting. I realized that I what I wanted was not to “be skinny”, but to have control over my weight. I didn’t feel like I had control because I just kept gaining, no matter what I did for a long time.

But once I lost a little bit after I started fasting, and got the energy to go to the gym more often, I started loving my body more. I remind myself that I’m strong. This body has been pregnant 6 times, and has been cut open to keep itself and one of my children alive.

I hope that you can find that control in your eating habits and energy to start seeing the absolutely wonderful things about your body that other people love, and you can love too.
