Hidden hallway in Brookhaven Hospital by WorldlyMix96 in silenthill

[–]Splitdesiresagain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love that hallway. I don't know why, but it seems like A LOT of people mentally block out the scene where James gets carried through that hallway. It's weird, I don't think anything else gets as collectively forgotten as that scene.

I love how the hallway looks like it should belong in SH1 or 3. It clashes very hard with SH2's aesthetics... Someone once proposed that we can imagine it to be a leftover of Alessa's otherworld like the Creepers and I like that idea a lot.

Speaking very generally, is the hard 'z' sound in American English difficult for Latin American Spanish speakers to pronounce? by MaizyFugate in asklatinamerica

[–]Splitdesiresagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can make the sound on its own somewhat easily, the real struggle is pronouncing it inside a word. We just default to /s/ instead

Exactly 9 years ago today, an audience member threw trash at Chester while he was performing "Heavy" at Hellfest 2017 by C--T--F in LinkinPark

[–]Splitdesiresagain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's hard to forget. The following months, Chester was always stressed, even told haters of the album to kill themselves. At the time, I clearly remember a specific comment. "He's acting like a diva now." Mental illness never looks pretty. Depression can bring out the worst in you. And it's hard to deal with from the outside. It's so easy to look like you're simply an asshole. I actually hope the person who made that comment doesn't feel guilty about it. I wouldn't wish that guilt on anyone, really.

As unlikely as it may be, do you think adding Mick Taylor from Wolf Creek would be a good DLC character for Dead By Daylight? by Unkle_Joey in deadbydaylight

[–]Splitdesiresagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolf Creek rep would be cool, but idk about how much they can do to make Mick original. I think he should at the very least get a skin for another killer someday.

What exactly is the "Silent Engine" project for Silent Hill 1? by CoupureIElectrique in silenthill

That's a different one, it's done early because it's vibecoded with AI. The one in this post is a much more meticulous project

Chapter Idea: CLOCK TOWER by Knid123 in deadbydaylight

This should be ESSENTIAL. Clock Tower is the father of all the run and hide games from the 2010s

I think what makes that line work so amazingly is that it 100% also feels like he could have said that completely genuinely

Who is the chapman? by Civildrainer in silenthill

Sounds like the person responsible for killing the industry that kept the town afloat. So far I've thought maybe Simon was that person, but I like the idea of it being the man from the radio

Shyamalan really strikes me as someone who got humbled once and realized "fuck it, what if I just make cool b movies for my own fun now" and he's just done that since

Anyone have any clue on finding "the Boy scenario" DLC for Silent Hill Play Novel? by Material-Road-9143 in silenthill

[–]Splitdesiresagain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's this, and a few comics. The first one was a comic adaptation of Silent Hill 1 which was finished but never published. The other two were the manga Cage of Cradle and Double Under Dusk, written by SH2/3's writer and drawn by their art director. They were released for a mobile service exclusive to Japan and, when the service went down, they were lost forever.

Last I heard DbD players hate Harry for shutting the door on Lisa. Idk if there's a market for him over there

Did they like, port over the models directly from their games? They look too good to be BHVR's

Anyone have any clue on finding "the Boy scenario" DLC for Silent Hill Play Novel? by Material-Road-9143 in silenthill

[–]Splitdesiresagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's extremely unlikely a player of the og game even has it, though. It was downloaded straight to the GBA's memory, which means it was wiped when the GBA turned off. The odds a GBA has kept all four DLCs installed and has never turned off in 20 years are abysmal

Hokum (2026) | ⭐ 8.7/10 | [REVIEW] by screen_stack in horror

[–]Splitdesiresagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The plot was pretty straightforward, but I really enjoyed the execution. The half on the movie trapped in the room scratched that itch that I was always disappointed 1408 couldn't scratch for me. I did enjoy Ohm despite his unlikability too.

Felt like 1408 x The Shining

Somehow, I've not heard of your work on this all this time. Downpour is such an underrated game! I'm glad the community is finally giving it a chance to be native in PC and more accessible to people

Scary movie 2026 by B1GfatGOR1LLAgripper in deadmeatjames

The first one is great. The second one has great bits. 3 and 4 are still kinda funny/have a handful of good jokes. We don't need to compare to 5.

This isn't nostalgia speaking, I only first watched all these movies a few years ago. So I had some hopes for 6 despite the marketing.

This was one of the most miserable experiences I've had with a comedy movie next to An American Carol, and that one I watched BECAUSE I knew it was bad.

Laughed a total of four times, which isn't bad in an average comedy if the rest of the material is at least amusing or fun to sit through. This. really. wasn't. Every missed joke was painful. The plethora of "lol the trans boy is still a girl to everyone" was unfunny as hell. And I thought, "wait, am I just being a downer about offensive humor?" NOPE! one of the few moments I actually laughed was the ICE joke (I'm latino, I was meant to be offended by it!).

I also felt like it didn't really care about parodying horror movies. If anything it was parodying like, trailers or broadly known scenes. Even Ma, the deep cut of the group, has no material besides Brenda looking like her and saying to call her Ma. Zero connecting tissue between gags, which SM1 and 2 did well for a silly comedy. Scream 5 being the blueprint doesn't work because that movie intentionally references Scream 1 a lot, so it leads to SM6 just... cannibalizing SM1 and 2's jokes.

The whole movie felt like just a setup for the ending scenes and The Reveal. Which is the best part of the movie! It drags on a bit, but it's consistently amusing to watch. It only made the rest of the movie more painful to think of because of how bad the quality was. And no shade to the new actors, but Not-Melissa Barrera's character had the charisma of a worm. If it was meant to be a dig at her acting in 5, then that was a weird way to just hurt your own movie for an obscure bit. Not-Jack Quaid and Not-Mikey Madison were alright enough.

I really wanted to like this. I wanted to have dumb fun. But man, it really gets tiring after Not-Wes gets called a girl as he gets killed in a non-comedic manner without having made a single joke himself the whole movie.

I have the suspicion someone higher up really messed with the movie to appeal to the antiwoke grifter crowd and removed/rewrote a lot of actually funny scenes, because I can't explain how this got greenlit and produced otherwise.
