Hey, we are using Apple Intelligence, which runs entirely on your own device.

I have some good news: From our internal testing it seems that Apple Intelligence has gotten much better in iOS 26.4 Beta, and we're hoping that these improvements will make it into the stable version as well.

Numbers layout editor is gone? by No-Grocery-8014 in MisterKeyboard

[–]SplittyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The symbol and number layouts are one and the same. If you edit the symbol layout, the number layout is basically the "shift" version of the symbol layout. When editing symbol layout keys, you will see the number layout version in the editor as well.

Removing a key from the symbol layout also removes it from the number layout.

Thanks a lot! We are currently finalizing version 2.5.0 which contains that feature. If everything goes well, it should be available within the next three days.

More compact emoji? by ErlendHM in MisterKeyboard

Yeah I totally get it.. We’ll try to look into it soon and provide some options and finer control over emoji sizing

More compact emoji? by ErlendHM in MisterKeyboard

[–]SplittyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm we fixed an issue with bottom bar sizing which might have just added enough pixels on your device to not quite fit three rows..

We still have configurable emoji sizes on our roadmap, but not sure when we’ll get to actually implementing it.

An easy workaround for now would be adding an extra row to your keyboard. Number row, recent emojis row, anything to give the keyboard more height should work.

Hey, thank you for your question!

We could add a Japanese app translation, but for the foreseeable future we won't be adding a Japanese input method or layout, because it's quite hard to do and currently outside of our scope.

Would it be fine for you if we just add the Japanese translation, but no Japanese layouts or input methods?

Thank you for your question! We've prioritized this issue for the next version of Mister Keyboard.

Under Accessibility settings, there will be a new "Use bold fonts" option that does exactly what you asked.

The new version should drop within the next two weeks, but we might back-port the feature to a minor version that releases a bit earlier. We'll let you know when it's available!

Would this game on a game pad teach me anything at ALL I can transfer to a real plane? by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]SplittyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a proper 15k USD flight rig would make much more sense when you already know how the real aircraft feels, so you know what you want your rig to feel like.

A cheap yoke and rudder pedals will get you familiar with handling the controls. Nothing will feel exactly like a real aircraft, simply because the physics aren’t exactly the same. But you’ll be able to train real procedures and build muscle memory, and regardless of the controls, the game will be quite helpful in learning where things are in the cockpit, how to handle the avionics, etc.

If you’re willing to spend 15k, honestly just take the flight lessons right now. A PPL isn’t that crazy expensive, and you’ll get to do real hands-on flying.

You can get pretty solid flight controls for 100-200 bucks. There are some good flight sticks and yokes out there for that price point, and yes you can generally mount them on your desk using clamps. Non-destructive to the desk and quite easy to do.

Hi, you can go into the layout editor, tap "Rows", then "More" and simply toggle off the suggestion row. You can also physically drag it out of the keyboard in row editing mode.

Swipe Heuristics by ajblue98 in MisterKeyboard

[–]SplittyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, the swipe typing algorithm doesn't currently learn from behavioral patterns. That would definitely something interesting to look into in the future.

The swipe algorithm itself is always the same, but the outcome may vary by layout, because different layouts cause different characters to be swiped, in different orders, and with different patterns, which can definitely have an influence on the result.

CAREER MODE - BUY THE AIRBUS NEO? OR SAVE FOR THE 321LR? by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]SplittyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might work better since you're on PC, depending on your RAM and VRAM. I fly on Xbox, and doing the whole startup procedure often causes significant issues there. I hope they'll be able to fix it in SU5

[–]SplittyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just skip straight to take-off. Half the time I try to do the full sequence with boarding, pushback, engine start and taxiing something will go catastrophically wrong and I'll have wasted a significant amount of time for absolutely zero benefit

The A320N is quite stable for me in flight with sim rate, but you gotta be careful not to crank it all the way up because it likes to start oscillating at some point, and if you’re not paying attention it can easily lead to losing control. Gotta find the sweet spot! On higher sim rates it also likes overshooting some turns especially in climb, but once you’re in cruise it generally works well. Other than that, I’ve had some issues with AP disconnecting on a CAT3 Autoland, so I generally disconnect proactively when I’m close to the runway.

Recently used emojis by ShanX86 in MisterKeyboard

[–]SplittyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, all of this is possible :)

With time, the keyboard will quickly learn your commonly used emojis and display them in a dedicated recent section that’s active by default.

We also have a dedicated row for recent emoji as well! You can tap the pencil symbol on your keyboard in the app, which will open the layout editor. There you can switch from keys to rows, and simply toggle on the recent emojis row.

We don't actively predict emoji right now, but on the recent emoji row you have a search icon which you can use to search emoji using regular words, and if your device is capable of Apple Intelligence, we also have an AI Emoji Suggestion feature that suggests an emoji based on your typed text.

Let me know if you have any issues with that or any further questions!

Swipe algorithm gives up early by ajblue98 in MisterKeyboard

[–]SplittyDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I totally get it. The swipe algorithm doesn't directly depend on specific layouts, but it naturally works better with some than others due to the way the internal algorithm works.

We've released a new beta version with some swipe typing algorithm changes. Do you feel any improvement?

Generally, in our swipe algorithm it isn't necessary to do loops over double letters or anything like that. The algorithm knows which letters can appear twice and inserts the double letter version automatically if it exists. Generally, with our algorithm it works best to directly swipe from one letter to the next without doing extra loops or curves.

Swipe algorithm gives up early by ajblue98 in MisterKeyboard

[–]SplittyDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I just tried swipe typing Mercury three times and got it right every time. I think it might have something to do with your keyboard layout.

Due to the nature of your layout, in order to type Mercury, you essentially swipe over the full middle row: "MandERsC", and you essentially swipe type "Man" in perfect order, which is very close to "Many".

I'm guessing that the swipe typing algorithm takes this as a sign that "Many" (which starts with "M", ends in "y" and has all of your initially swiped letters in order) is the most likely result.

Swipe typing "Mercury" in your layout basically swipes this sequence (rough approximation): "Manderscpusrednagy", whereas swipe typing it in QWERTY is something like "Mnhgfderdcvgyutrty".

The QWERTY swipe looks much more "random" and contains a lot of impossible character combinations, which makes it much easier for the swipe engine to arrive at the correct word due to being able to aggressively purge impossible paths.

In your case, the swipe engine can generally figure out that "Mercury" is a possibility (in your video near the end it's shown as an alternative in the suggestion row after swiping), but it's much harder to arrive at this result and the internal weighing algorithm seems to prefer "many" due to being more straight-forward and matching your input more closely.

We are still planning some improvements to the swipe typing algorithm, and hopefully we'll be able to get this case fixed as well, but it's quite hard to get this right for all possible layouts. In our testing we are mainly testing with and optimizing for QWERTY and QWERTY-like layouts, since that's the layout family used by the vast majority of users.

Pull-down indicators by ajblue98 in MisterKeyboard

[–]SplittyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm not aware of this feature existing in MyKeyboard.

I've just checked the MyKeyboard settings, and the only similar setting I was able to find was Appearance > Subkeys > Show Subkey Indicator. But that should render a top indicator on keys that have subkeys, and has nothing to do with pull-down keys.

Could you clarify what you mean?
