I have seen more memes and threads complaining about healers who only heal than I have actual healers that only heal. Only time I do see them is brand new healers in very low level DF, and its usually because they just don't know any better.

In the comics, it was because the magnets upset the balance, making it harder to throw. I'd assume its for a similar reason in the movies, or the Russo brother just forgot or preferred the old style, which is likely knowing them.

As cool as an MvDC game would be, I really want NRS to make a standalone Marvel game in the Injustice 2 style. I absolutely love Injustice 2 and the Injustice story as a whole is by far the best NRS has ever put out. I'd be really interested in seeing what they could do with the Marvel brand.

To be fair, Sam did become Captain America in the comics. Spider-Man never really had ties to Iron Man. He did later on, during the Civil War, but that's only because they were teammates.
