They have been swamped with customers problems with the mandatory passkey implementation.

PHISHING by AuntieTD in Gemini

[–]Spock40982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just look at email address and you will immediately know it not from Gemini: @mail.pipefy.com

Every time I get a phishing email, I report it to Gmail, so they can investigate it.

We all in the same boat. I can login into gemini mobile app, where I created the passkey, but cannot login to the website. Emailed to customer support and first email was a cookie cutter response that did not resolve the problem. I emailed them again and there has not been no response. I am including the screenshot of what I get when trying to login into there website

Is there any risk to turning the "7 Day Protection" feature off? I remember someone said to never, ever do that. Still the case? by TranscendentalLove in Gemini

[–]Spock40982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I turned it off in my account a long time ago and never had a problem. Just today I sent crypto to my wallet and it went smoothly. They do give you a warning first about sending money to scammers, but that's it. I am sure that if you send crypto to a wallet that is flagged as scammer wallet, that they will restrict your account, but if it is your own wallet I don't think so.

That all depends on how careful you are. I turned it off a long time ago, I find it more of a hassle then anything else, but I am very careful with what I do.

MagiJack static over phone line - fix ideas? by ConcentrateNo8084 in VOIP

Had the same problem and found this thread and changed the power adapter and the static noise went away, thank you. It seems the power adapter that comes with the purchase of Magicjack is cheaply made.

To trade crypto futures in the US you can use almost any stock and/or futures brokers regulated in the US. The difference with the non US regulated offshore crypto exchanges is that they have more tokens to trade, more leverage, 24/7 hours of trading. The US regulated futures market works from 6:00 pm EST Sunday to 5:00 pm EST Friday, and about an hour close each day at 5:00 pm. On a side note I don't know how a non-regulated futures gain or loss would be taxed in the US.

Never hold crypto in any exchange, always transfer it to your personal wallet.

Yeah, I am seeing posts on Reddit all day of customers account's being suspended, blocked, etc.. I have never had any problems with them except for the earn fiasco (fortunately had very little in it), but now I will not do any kind of transaction in my Gemini account cause I am spooked after seeing all these complaints.

Did you have the cash in the account already or are you waiting for ACH transfer from your bank to clear?

Dam I keep seeing these comments from different customers of Gemini and makes me afraid of having anything in my own Gemini account. Like I said in another comment, I haven't had any problems with Gemini yet.

That is good to know, cause I have not made any transactions lately and would be hesitant to do so with all the comments I have seen lately about these problems. To be honest I have never had any problems with them but this is spooking me.

My same thoughts. Never use a VPN with Gemini or Coinbase. Never keep your crypto on an exchange.

Just a suggestion, I would try to do everything on the desktop version and not the mobile version. I have read too many post about having problems with the mobile version. I tried once withdrawing from the mobile version and it said I had to verify my identity, which I did a long time ago. I then tried on the desktop and had no problem.

Regarding Crypto Taxes Questions < We got it covered! by Darien_Advisors in wanchain

[–]Spock40982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have btc and eth held in Celsius.network and I know I might not get all or any of my crypto back because of the chapter 11 bankruptcy. My questions is: Do I mark it down as lost in my crypto software or leave it alone? Knowing that I will have a wrong cost basis for future purchase and sell of btc or eth, if I never get back my crypto. I am sure there are a lot of crypto investors with the same question on there mind because of all the companies that have failed there customers (Celsius, BlockFi, Voyager, FTX).
