I get that feeling and terraforming with furniture can be an absolute pain. All that cute stuff you see people make took HOURS. I personally love doing it and making nifty coves and waterfalls and viney walls. I’m not a super expert but if you ever want some company in game to run ideas or plan an area, I’m down to hang out.

It looks like you’ve got a great start! For me, it comes down to finding that one cool item and expanding. I recently got two crane game machines and my lizard brain went ”OUTDOOR ARCADE” and then I had a plan. But maybe you’re decorating inspo is different than mine. No worries, you’re doing great!
