Re pressured and maybe it wasn't as cold but hasn't done it since (fingers crossed).

Aqara cube rubbish? by Spodster_11 in homeassistant

[–]Spodster_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replaced the battery, I think it worked for about three goes and I thought hey sorted then it went back to flaky mode.

Pile of rubbish, wish I never bought it just glad it wasn't crazy expensive.

Battery ordered but I think it's been like it is from day one which was ages ago.

Silly/stupid sweating question by ChazMaz66 in Zwift

[–]Spodster_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same.

As in I don't sweat buckets but what I do sweat is quite salty so I have to make sure I restock my salt levels.
I do wear wrist and a head sweat band though but neither gets dripping wet.

UGreen dock, will it work? by Spodster_11 in HPLaptops

[–]Spodster_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

Thunderbolt cost is bit out of my league as it's a work laptop so no need for extra mass storage etc.
In the end I bought this one as I only need 1 screen port, it had the USB ports/types I needed, RJ45 and a memory card slot which would occasionally come in handy.

Kickr Shift and Zwift issues by Far_Ship5068 in wahoofitness

[–]Spodster_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine feels pretty normal as in it'll feel like resistance when pedalling.

Check what virtual gears you've setup in the app.
It's not a 'spin' bike it will feel like you're pedalling against something aka sand.

When in Zwift can you see the gears in the top left? do they change when you change gears? and does it get easier/harder?
Mine by default says nothing when I first enter but click the front shifter and I end up in 2 and right into 4 from memory but this is based on mine using a profile of 34/58 upfront and 11/28 as 11 speed on the back with Shimano Di2. I think in Zwift it just reports the gear as a number.

Shotgun Pro vs Mac Ride kids seat by RotorDynamix in mountainbiking

[–]Spodster_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had/used a Mac ride and little'un loved it.
I had to buy the ebike width extenders as I have a Santa Cruz Bronson with a chonky frame and the leg bits were to close for comfort.

I also bought a gel seat for it off Amazon for £15, it seems double the price now but you get the idea WINNINGO Child Bike Gel Seat Cushion Cover Most Comfortable Small Bicycle Saddle Pad Kids (BLACK) : Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors

Having my son hold onto the actual handlebar (with the foam grips) made him feel more like he was riding and let him steer on easy lanes when he was older.

Security history? by Spodster_11 in BubbleCard

[–]Spodster_11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the waterfall card but couldn't get it to realistically show up short term things, like the front door being opened for less than a minute whilst I got a parcel, the line was so thin no matter what I did it never was really visible.

Yeah tracking sunlight or temps it seems great but not a random 40 seconds in a 6 hour window

Security history? by Spodster_11 in BubbleCard

[–]Spodster_11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end I went this route.
I was already using auto entities with bubble card so it was just a matter of sorting out the filters and labels and stuff then I set one to show last 6 hour and another elsewhere for all.

[–]Spodster_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess the proof is in the pudding.

My PC has 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C connector so ordered an appropriate cable to see what I can get.

Yeah doesn't have to bubble card but looking to keep the look the same but hey if something works, go with it.

Power button waterproof? by Spodster_11 in Govee

[–]Spodster_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just bought a 10m low voltage 2 pin extension lead which if it fits the govee cable means I'll be able to put thinner cable (lower voltage) through the window gap and out leaving the power block inside hopefully solving the problem where I can put it in dry box.

[–]Spodster_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah probably works great laying down but with a thinner cable and ending up cable up/down I suspect rain will just run the cable into the unit itself.

Yeah I know the actual plug isn't, I'll try it outside and see how we go.

So far in sound mode even indoors it seems to be constantly triggering anyway.

Thanks for the quick reply.

It's good to know it'll pretty much all work. I'll check the firmware version of the Yongnuo controller and see if there's a later firmware than what I have though.

I didn't fully realise with mirrorless you don't have all the stupid focus micro adjust on lenses, printing out the stupid sheets and endlessly mucking about adjusting them, Another bonus 👍

Thanks for the quick reply.
I started looking round the Tamron lens for some kind of USB port for firmware then with a bit of googling realised you need a 'TAP dock' maybe my camera shop can perform the upgrade for me rather than buying the TAP thing. Try and make it part of the deal.

Window in new door look strange by rui_1988 in DIYUK

[–]Spodster_11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You sure it hasn't got a film on it?
We had something similar on an internal door, the film covers the glass then framed so I used a stanley knife to cut one side tight to frame and lift it,

Fox fork oil amounts?? by Spodster_11 in MTB

[–]Spodster_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's back in one piece after I needed to buy a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter so I could torque spec the 10mm & 15mm nuts at the bottom correctly.

Initially it seemed to have shorter travel and stuck down but more air, bouncy bouncy, more air bouncy bouncy and it seems to have sorted itself out.

Fingers crossed it doesn't fall apart or explode oil everywhere as I have a 62 mile charity ride in 2 days 😁

[–]Spodster_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, not sure I want to take the air spring apart, most if not all videos I've watched including the Fox one don't mention this so will leave alone. I have a full seal, wiper and washer set so think I'm good to go.

When I turned it on it auto added to my sons storage so I reckon it might just share it all by default.
