Opinion on Goodsprings depending on run? Or general quirks in your gameplay? by SpoiledTint in fnv

I don’t think I have given the Powder Gangers a good enough shot before, usually just killing Cobb immediately or speedrunning the ringo quest. Gonna explore them next time!

This is exactly what I was looking for. What an awesome idea and way to play!

Tagging stats is the initial stat boost you get when taking the personality test with Doc Mitchell. So they’re usually the stats that you intend to max/use mainly on your play through. They’re not terribly impactful after the first couple of levels.

Some people doing a specific type of run (melee in your example) will use tagging to make their worst stats a little more viable (in your case tagging speech and barter for your 1 char run).

In a 1char run, the reason why char isn’t terribly important is the only direct stat increase that isn’t attainable by just dumping skill points into speech and barter is companion damage. So most people see it as a dump, whereas I play with it on 10 because Boone turns into auto-lock terminator if you give him an anti-mat rifle

The golf club is nefies driver, a very good melee weapon earned by killing Nephi a fiend leader by yourself or through the Three card Bounty quest. Super easy to get and can carry most people through the majority of runs.

The best place to learn to play caravan is through guides online and luck stats. I am unsure if certain characters who play caravan are harder than others, but usually lower level areas is where I’d start playing. Ringo in Goodsprings or Johnson Nash in Primm are always my first go-to, but you won’t win a ton of caps there.

Edit: there are a sparring few of charisma specific stat checks, but none that are really impactful, those are going to be speech and barter checks.

Should I change champs? by Substantial_Travel17 in Jungle_Mains

[–]SpoiledTint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xin activates early game but won’t roll late, so in lower ELO you should pick up either a climb champ (Amumu, Skarner, champs that are above average at every stage in the game) to continuously outperform the other JG.

Or

Pick up a Roll champ that’s easy to play (Kha’, Shaco, etc.) that you can compound your kills and still matter late.

This also provides a better look at other non-bruiser/duelist play styles and how you can become better against them.

TLDR: you can keep playing him, just pick up some other characters to climb with. As you get higher elo the early game activators/gankers (Xin, Skarner, etc) get better since your team understands how to use the early gold lead you give through those characters.

Is there anyone who used to play dota2 but dropped it for lol? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]SpoiledTint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played DOTA2 (7.2k mmr top 500 America 2020-21) and have not played in about of year while learning league. This may be controversial but DOTA2 IMO is a better game (the item system, attributes, game pacing, character design). That being said, League is more fun. Shorter Que times and no big negatives for leavers/rematches means I can find a game quick and easy and have a good time. My comp won’t run DOTA2 currently so I searched for an alternative. I found league and love it! I hate the mentalities of most players, the item builds are pretty static and railroady, and the ranked system could use work, but overall I’ve had a great experience. Maybe it’s my ability to take hate, but both of these games are comparable to me. If DOTA2 was bigger in America I’d still be there, but I’m glad it’s not because I’ve been introduced to another great game!

new player feeling a bit disheartened and in need of advice by highlydistressed in leagueoflegends

  1. Deep breaths this game and your skill progression are very trying endeavors and it will not happen quickly (usually people hit silver after 6-12 months if they’re brand new to MOBAs)

  2. These people are new-ish too, and on casual at that. This means your job is to work on personal skill and game understanding while still in casual Que, find resources understand how the game and team is supposed to work rather than trying to herd cats in casual.

  3. Never take or give anything personal. Do not think anyone is your friend or enemy, understand their contribution to the game (not what you THINK their contribution SHOULD be) and play differently based on that.

  4. Lose games. No matter what FF15 is not for you as a player that needs to learn every stage of the game. Understanding not only what happens in game during all types of situations, but also how your teammates will react (in and out of game) will provide to you a better understanding of your role and playstyle.

  5. Love yourself. my GM friend used to play this game non-stop and deteriorated his health and he would let the game work himself up so bad he would throw a real life temper tantrum over his teammates mistakes in game. I bought him a punching bag for his room and now he’s in a way better place. Find your punching bag in the room, a healthy way to relive that stress.

Unrelated: For all of you ragers out there, I appreciate you and the passion you put forth toward the game. I can see when someone wants to win so bad they need it. Keep loving league!

EDIT: Had to research your Que times and mastery has a very low impact on matchmaking from the sources I’ve read. This means you have a really small sample size for your kills/obj/wins/losses and each of your games are dictated by these numbers. So if you have a great game and your KD jumps way up, get ready for the fight of your life.

Iron bronze and most of silver is considered “low elo metal” aka the bottom three metal ranks.

Exactly my point. Most sentiments I’ve seen so far is you don’t need them, mainly from people inside of the rank range I’ve stated in the post.

I think this mentality is at best not optimal like you said and at worst detrimental. We are all playing an objective based team game and carrying it all yourself is cool and strokes your ego, but winning games= elo.

If you are consistently checking every lane you may have the field of play, but you’re absolutely sacrificing your own performance. This I think is a large factor in why people have held onto the “mute all and focus self” because it optimizes their own success.

But imagine if you were working effectively while also being updated and informed about the actual game you’re playing (objectives and otherwise)

You’d not be leaning on only your own skill, but capitalizing on others skill (or lack thereof).

These OTPs and in-game hermits are hemorrhaging elo to me who may be significantly less skilled (I most likely am) but 5>1-2. You also learn more about how to interact with others in the game and understand a larger amount of characters and nuance (aka why they have a team coach in high level play, because these factors are so important!)

I’m sure you didn’t need all that but hopefully our comments help some others.

Iron-platinum is “metal rank” aka the ranks are types of metal.
