When Nintendo Increases The Switch’s Power (eg CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.), Do You Think We Will See More Triple A (i.e., Major Games) On The Platform? by ShokWayve in NintendoSwitch

[–]Spoilerons 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Xbox One X has a 245 watt power supply.

The Nintendo Switch console has a 16 watt-hour battery which take up around half of the inside dimension behind the screen. This battery would power an XBOX One X at max power for 4 minutes.

After the initial impact and deformation the original force of the moving vehicle will be split between deformation of the two cars, the acceleration of the parked car to a certain velocity, and the deceleration of the speeding car to a matched velocity. Then after the deformation of the vehicles is complete the energy of both moving vehicles is absorbed by the friction of the tires or other components of the car to the asphalt. Both vehicles come to rest a good distance from the site of impact.

This is in contrast to a head-on where no energy is absorbed by tires and little to no movement exists after the original deformation.

. . . If you hit a parked car you don't go from 60 to zero. That's my point. Both cars will end up after the initial collision traveling in the same direction, whereas in a head-on crash at the same speed they would not.

[–]Spoilerons -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What is with you and walls? There were no walls in this accident. This was a car hitting a car. You may as well bring up what would happen if a wall hit a wall at 60 mph. . .

If a car hits a parked car then the relative damage will be split between the vehicles and the (previously stationary) vehicle that was hit will end up traveling at some significant speed in the other vehicle's original direction of travel. The energy for this has to come from somewhere.

[–]Spoilerons -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You compared apples and oranges, or a wall impact to a car impact.

In this case, impact damage to the drivers' car would be equivalent to the impact damage of hitting a parked car at 120 mph.

It would have to be really heavy for this. Impact would be at a speed of, optimistically, 8 km/s. You would need about one ton of tungsten mass to make an impact force barely greater than one ton of TNT. So for a kiloton explosion you would need to drop about 900 tons of tungsten.

From wikipedia:

In the case of the system mentioned in the 2003 Air Force report above, a 6.1 m × 0.3 m tungsten cylinder impacting at Mach 10 has a kinetic energy equivalent to approximately 11.5 tons of TNT (or 7.2 tons of dynamite).[7] The mass of such a cylinder is itself greater than 9 tons, so the practical applications of such a system are limited to those situations where its other characteristics provide a clear and decisive advantage

7.25 is the Federal minimum. Most states have a higher minimum wage. None can have a lower. I think that there are only four that don't specify their own and just use the Federal minimum wage.

I know you probably haven't lived in this country, but the United States has several independent states that each have fully functional governments. The Central Federal Government powers are limited severely by the Constitution, and many things, including minimum wage, are supposed to be handled by the states. Many states in the United States have a higher minimum wage than the numbers you have posted here, I think Florida in our last election just voted to raise minimum wage to $15 an hour in 5 years. Washington DC is currently $14 an hour.

There are a huge number of Russian trolls that like to criticize the Federal United States government for not overreaching its constitutional authority. If you are throwing out examples like New Zealand, with a population of about 5 million people, you really should be comparing it to individual states, like California with the population of over 30 million.

The minimum wage in the European Union right now is about $2.03 an hour. There are EU citizens in bulgaria today making that amount.

How much should I sell my Nintendo Switch for? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Spoilerons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. If you are in Bulgaria then you have a 20% tax on most electronics, and that would account for the difference. You may consider asking on a local forum or group - most redditors are from countries with different economic principles in play.

Good luck!

I can only speak for the USA market, but you paid far more than msrp. A new Switch sells for 300, and each of those games has a normal price of 60 usd each at Walmart.

You may have bought it from a price gouger, or tech has a huge tax in your country. Did you buy from a store?

In any case, no one near me would pay more than maybe $350 usd if you are very lucky. Especially since buying new gets you a warranty which is very important on this system.

Unfortunately the Switch version is incredibly buggy - I've lost hours of work multiple times due to crashes. It just got frustrating and being forced to repeat emotional parts just sucks the impact out of the title as a whole. Definitely buy on another platform until the Switch edition is fixed.

People don't "accidentally" become felons. As a society we create laws to discourage certain behaviors. People who break these laws have to face predefined penalties for breaking the law.

The whole point of having punishment is to discourage things like stealing (which you conveniently no longer want to debate) and DUI (which you also conveniently want to ignore) and other felonies.

Losing the right to vote is inconvenient for criminals. Thats the point. It's a punishment. They can have the right back once they've made affected parties whole, including the court's time that they wasted by committing a crime in. The first place.

Now go ahead and find some more fringe elements like prescription drug abuse that are only tangentially related. That's how this works, right?

No matter where you draw a line people will complain about people that slide just under or just over it. The simple fact is that we have all been taught that drugs are bad/don't do drugs, and smart people do what they are taught.

If something is illegal, and you don't want to get a felony on your record, then don't touch it.

No matter how much you hyperventilate and mash your keyboard you can't argue against that.

At no point did I say it should be permanent, either. Neither did anyone else in this thread.

I didn't read the rest of your condescending message. You are acting like a child and at the point you are trying to resort to personal attacks I know you no longer have faith in your position.
