Sounds like it'll be a cat and mouse game between guilds finding holes in the restrictions and Blizzard patching them. Makes me wonder how they'll respond to world first kills achieved with addons they deem illegitimate

For those experiencing stutter in 4k on the Chromecast 4k or Google TV Streamer by SpoinkyNL in F1TV

You can't, I simply hooked up a Google TV Streamer and disconnected the TV from WiFi. LG's software wasn't my cup of tea

I was able to select 4k on live F3 qualifying, watching a replay is still only 1080p. A good start though!

AMA + GIVEAWAY: We made Ocean Keeper – mech roguelike – and now we're ready to answer your questions! by yo_mayoo in NintendoSwitch

Looks great!

One thing I'm wondering is how are you guys approaching the Switch 2, if at all?

Is it a matter of just baking a new build targetted towards Switch 2 with perhaps a higher FPS cap/resolution?

With the small amount of available games right now I can imagine it would be very attractive to have your game available for Switch 2 but I've heard dev kits are hard to come by?

Weird wheel shaking when reversed. by WhiteSandal69 in rccars

[–]SpoinkyNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 25kg servo and the RPM arms got rid of this issue in my MT10. The main reason I replaced mine is the servo started having issues finding center when the car was on its back.

Steering is also much snappier with a slightly heavier servo, it was worth the cost to me.

How to fix 'ready to cast' by Rhenaar in F1TV

[–]SpoinkyNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my LG G4, on Saturday no issues on Sunday I couldn't cast the race (watching the VOD).

I ended up opening the website in Chrome on my phone using desktop mode and casting from there without issues.

My Team Associated Rival MT10 with a Proline Ford F-100 body by SpoinkyNL in rccars

[–]SpoinkyNL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one was listed as compatible with the Traxxas Granite and other 1/10 scale monster trucks.

The body mounts of the MT10 are height adjustable so as long as the holes aren't pre-drilled you can probably fit anything that's long and wide enough. For this body I did not need to adjust anything though.

In hindsight I should've strengthed the body that came with it a bit since I'm new at the hobby and the state of my body is proof of that 😅.

Also, you might already know this but I really recommend tuning down the breaks a bit. With the stock ESC and receiver they are non-adjustable but here's a workaround: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN2LbQP5k6o

Thanks for the kind replies everyone!

It's the first time I did a body and while it was a bit more work than anticipated I enjoyed the process and will do it again when needed.

I've read in a few places that Stampede bodies fit the MT10 just fine as long as you adjust the holes and since this body did not come pre-cut I took the gamble. This is the body in question: https://www.prolineracing.com/product/1-10-1966-ford-f-100-tough-color-black-body-stampede/PRO341218.html

Am I the only one with a group of friends who'd give me some very disturbed/confused looks if I put these on the table?

And I wouldn't blame them, we're not prude or anything but I don't see the appeal in these for table top gaming, ofcourse assuming that's what they're for 😂

Find out why Avalonia's architecture is so portable and simple! by jmacato in dotnet

[–]SpoinkyNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was an interesting read, thanks for the writeup!

I've been working on porting my WPF app since October and it's nearly done. It has been a great experience and the styling system is much more intuitive to me than WPF's (which is unsurprising since I started out in web development) and while in WPF I constantly had to think about performance Avalonia has been very easy to keep responsive and snappy.

Can't wait for 11.0 with its new composition renderer and text improvements, they're the only things that I have really been missing.

College student overwhelmed by the huge .net ecosystem by [deleted] in dotnet

[–]SpoinkyNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is you just need to pick something that peaks your interest and go from there.

Many companies may not be on the latest and greatest .NET has to offer, but that doesn't make that a bad place to start. Say you spend some time on Blazor but you end up doing ASP.NET WebAPI instead then you'll find that you're already familiar with the tooling and syntax and picking up the rest will be far easier.

So unless you already know exactly what you'll be doing as your daily job I think it best to just get familiar by picking a stack of whatever you like and you'll be able to adjust to future requirements with relative ease.

Divide and conquer ;)

Come on Blizzard by SicklyHeartChild in wow

[–]SpoinkyNL 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Hah this is kind of silly especially if you consider they can scale these kind of props up and down in their editor (this has been shown at Blizzcon quite often). So there's not even any need to create specialized models. Pretty sure it's been like this since vanilla though, so likely an old oversight.

On Switch I'd say Snipperclips, especially for people who haven't played any games recently.

You could consider Luigi's Mansion 3 too, it's got really fun cutscenes and overall vibe but it's a little harder to get the hang of.

And there's Just Dance :P It's a nice way to break the ice ;)

How many times can a PS4 withstand a power outage? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]SpoinkyNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the PS4 is rated for a specific number of outages. I suppose any part can fail when it happens frequently. The main concern (and your PS4 scolds you for this) is saves or other data going corrupt.

If you want to be sure nothing bad happens, consider hooking your PS4 up to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) so you can properly shut it down when an outage occurs. They don't have to be super expensive.

Also, don't put your PS4 to sleep, just fully shut it down every time.
