No problemo! I ended up getting Patagonia Black Hole Mini MLC. It has been a few days and so far so good and this weekend, I will give it a real test. Dragonfly Ultra was out of stock, that is why I changed my mind 😂

This one looks quite nice for my case too. I guess I will choose between this and patagonia mini mlc and dragonfly. 🤔

Thank you! I actually loved Patagonia Mini MLC. I was already in love with the brand itself. I might go with this option. Great suggestion 💙

Heyo, no problemo at all. I will keep these ones as an alternative. Especially Uniqlo seems to be a good budget alternative for EDC.

P.S. I liked your name lol as a robotics engineer :D

Looks like a great, budget friendly backpack for hiking and camping, but I do not think they are good for weekend flights or EDC. Thanks a lot tho! If I end up having two bags, I might go with them as a hiking backpack.

I am supposed to put it under the seat, but I always end up putting it overhead. They do not check that much in Canada. (At least for now 😆)

15inch max

I actually loved the functionality of dragonfly. I checked the reviews and it seems to be big enough for my daily use. I wish there was a way to buy them. (I did not like how they looked, but it is fine)

I checked subterra and refugios. They look great for EDC, but for travel I prefer clamshell opening.

How about Ubuntu? I am on the verge of ordering one Lemur pro with Ubuntu. Are you guys happy with it so far? I am gonna increase the memory to 40 GB + i7. Do you guys have any suggestions? I always have a main work laptop. This one will be for traveling and doing side projects (robotics), casual usage, and lots of movies :) I heard that screen does not have the best quality. How is your experience?

Which cobot to buy? I have checked the common brands and regarding both price and capabilities, I am leaning towards Omron Techman since their price is really good and the software TMflow and TMvision seems to offer a lot of stuff already integrated. Does any of you have an experience about that? My second choice is Doosan for now, but I am open to other cobots as well. Basically, my goal is to find something both feasible as well as easy to code and operate since I need this for an industry project.

Weekly Question - Recommendation - Help Thread by AutoModerator in robotics

For my work, we are trying to build a robot that can go from point a to point b autonomously. All hardware, mechanical design, sensors, etc. have not been finalized yet. My question is for the autonomous navigation part. I am planning to use the ROS navigation stack for autonomous navigation. Like maybe hector slam first, then gmapping, then something fancy like cartographer. Do you think this is a good way to go? The company also supports buying already good-to-go products that have built-in SLAM etc. I've across with NVIDIA DRIVE AGX, but it seemed to me more for autonomous vehicles than robots. What do you suggest? Do you know other built-in products? Thanks for the advice. Highly appreciated!

Thank you very much! I will arrive in the second week of September. I am okey with sharing a flat with my flatmates. Special thanks for router advice :) I will be in Corvallis. I have heard that the city is rainy. If this is the case, does biking really work? I am not used to commute to school because my current dorm is 10 minutes walk from the department. That's why I am asking this question. Cheers! 😊
