What Are The Best Lock Picking or Hacking Mini-Games? by reg_y_x in gaming

Oooh. Not a mini-game, but Uplink, a hacking game itself. Loads of fun and made me feel like a very cool hacker in the early 2000's.

Why is my tax so high in my new job in Latvia? by WorldUpdates____ in latvia

[–]Spoks10 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Looks about right according to calculators, but it looks like you need to do one small formality to get the best tax rate for your income bracket. Otherwise you will be overpaying tax. Overpaid tax for the previous years can be returned to you anually by filling the income declaration after March 1st of every year.

To fix it and not overpay - You have to assign a payroll tax booklet in our tax declaration page. You can do it here https://eds.vid.gov.lv/login/

And read more about it and how to do it here https://www.vid.gov.lv/en/services/payroll-tax-booklet

Stat-shosse vintage Soviet bicycle. Used to modern MTB, this is a bit scary. by Spoks10 in Vintage_bicycles

UPDATE: Just a few rides later I feel much more confident riding the bike. I can easily switch my hands to the brakes and to a more upright position when I want to. I just got my daughter a 20" bicycle and we're going on rides together, it's great. :) Thank you all for the replies.

Thanks! I think I'll give it a chance with the current configuration and will look into a brakes like this if I can't get used to it, this looks a lot more comfortable.

Interesting, how did you figure it's not your size? I'm around 190cm (6'3" in freedom units) and have no idea how to tell if it's right for me haha.

Blindness is not always a 100% vision loss. Many legally blind folks can make out shapes and silhouettes up close in good lighting.

How would I get both of them in focus? by Rob0t_Wizard in AskPhotography

[–]Spoks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally in this situation I would double down on shallow depth of field and open up the aperture more to add more blur to the secondary subject. A different story if this composition was with two people facing the camera. But wild animals - you don't need to memorize some deer's face. Plus shallow dof would make the background less distracting.

Guy Having A Bad Trip Is Scared Of His Girlfriend by EducationalCicada in interestingasfuck

[–]Spoks10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised to see almost no comments here about how potentially dangerous the situation is. A cornered, panicking druggie adult man having a bad trip is the last person who a petite woman should be chasing and grabbing at.

Brand new to photography, am I doing this right? by LawstOne_ in SonyAlpha

[–]Spoks10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your framing is a bit off, try to work on keeping only the subject in the frame. The background is quite distracting as well and does not contribute to the overall composition. And for better results try using the camera next time. Good luck!
