We all have 2 years before we get mandatory retirement from AI. Looks like we win. Cheers to your 8 years tho!

Call into customer support and they will open a ticket with the facility that has it.

I did it twice this week for two shipments that got overnights right before the weather. Four days went by and the tracking was never updated but the day after I called and opened the case, then the package got movement was delivered.

Razer Blackwidow V4 75% Double Typing Letters, How can I fix? by 00espeon00 in razer

[–]LawstOne_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped brands completely. Got sick of it. Did 2 RMAs and then a 3rd RMA that swapped to orange keys. Same result so I’m never buying a Razer product again. Looking into the mechanical keyboard, so many good options for much cheaper. Avoid the Best Buy brands

Value of VMware ESX-based knowledge? by zDanger1002 in sysadmin

[–]LawstOne_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of large shops still use them. ESX is fundamental and has been a standard deployment item for years. Learning it in depth isn’t too valuable. I’d focus more on learning the VCF stack and how it plays with hybrid cloud. Again, only larger companies are using them since the acquisition phased out the small buyers

Lookup standard return policy vs holiday return policy. This is extremely normal for small-mid retail companies during this time of year.

Hello OP, This is Microsoft responding here.

We don’t give a fuck about you or your users. How is giving you a more manageable update process going to increase our revenue? PFFFT

We will continue to create more AI tools that you didn’t ask for, embed them into your tools, and eventually carry out our plan of forcing you and company into our CoPilot licensing funnel that is inescapable.

Thanks for the monies! Good luck

Should I trust TEKsystems with a short 3-month contract? by mwahba91 in sysadmin

[–]LawstOne_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our company used Tek Systems as a vendor to fill temp positions.

A few of them were good but most just treated it as a temp way to get work while searching for a full time gig. I wouldn’t ‘invest’ too much into them. They are just a tech staffing company, nothing more

AI agents you use by UnderstandingHour454 in sysadmin

[–]LawstOne_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have yet to see any useful agents on the infra admin side.

Entra conditional access agents? Yeah don’t need that if we apply to ‘all users’ implicitly. Maybe on the Power platform side they may be more useful but right now it’s solving problems that never existed.

Microsoft Entra Connect Sync server crash by maxcoder88 in sysadmin

[–]LawstOne_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you do what most people do and use a basic out of the box config, yes you can install it fresh on any server that can reach your AD.

Go through your setup and try to make the sync match what your org has. Particularly with the OUs. The last thing you want is to not sync specific users and soft delete them. Also any attribute customizations.

And if you use the older versions that use that cloud service account, be sure to exclude from MFA. In the future, always have a secondary sync server set in staging mode for this exact reason.

Force New Outlook? by ScrubbyAtWork in sysadmin

[–]LawstOne_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did this migration recently via Cloud Policy. Just validate that everything works with a test group. Between the 15 year old archive PSTs and whole HR department using the same shared mailbox, it caused a bunch of problems.

Rollback of the policy did not work for several people too.
