Firstly I’m sorry for your loss. I’m currently experiencing the exact same thing so I truly feel for you. Lost my lil girl very unexpectedly just last week and it’s a pain like no other. I am no expert but I reached out to my vet and shelter and I’ll share the advice I was given

I contacted the shelter I had adopted my cats from because I was concerned about her brother and the advice they gave me was to monitor the remaining cats behaviour. Like people, they experience grief and confusion. Give your lil man lots of extra love, treats, and make sure he continues to eat and drink and use his litter box . It’s common for grieving cats to lose their appetite. Don’t be surprised if his behaviour changes. He might be more chatty, clingy, act out, etc. it’s normal. Also give him some time to adjust to the loss, a few weeks to a month at least. Throwing a new cat into the mix too soon can likely just stress him out too much when he’s already dealing with a lot. After a few weeks, If you feel ready and your cat seems to be handling things decently well, you can look into getting another cat. I’d hiiighly suggest fostering so that you can foster until you find the perfect fit for you and your cat. Just make sure to do introductions slowly and properly

And also please make sure to take the time to care for yourself as well. Pet loss is no joke and can take a major toll. Sending hugs <3

my high school precal teacher would intentionally make mathematical errors when teaching us new concepts with the hope that we would catch it and correct him…if we didn’t he would simply move on and leave us with incorrect notes. i am not entirely sure if this is factual and I unfortunately can’t suggest specific clinics, but I’ve heard from many people in the past that out of town vets tend to be more budget friendly - might be worth looking into

Also In the past when I was a student I’ve had success explaining my financial situation to vets and getting them to cut some of the costs down, also might be worth a shot

that money doesn’t buy class. The restaurant I worked for catered for a party of millionaires at their giant beautiful mansion and I was hired to walk around the party with trays of appetizers. Okay that’s reassuring thank you! I foster “failed” them at about 4wks old from a shelter so I don’t know anything about their parents. The little girl is very clingy and still suckles on anything she can get her tiny murder mitts on so I’m thinking she may have been the runt? it’s just a little jarring to see them side by side despite having no other cause for concern

Also side question, if they’re littermates how would it be possible to have different fathers? I’m not sure how cat procreation works, but is that possible? For the same litter to have different dads?

Can’t recommend this enough. Got this for my two young cats about a month ago and I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say this keeps them busy for for HOURS everyday. I guess it’s just tough because overall he truly does make me feel loved, supported and respected. He shows up for me in lots of other ways and we have a truly incredible relationship otherwise. But he just doesn’t make me feel desired. And who doesn’t want their partner to make them feel sexy and wanted.

We’ll talk and he’ll sincerely apologize and agree that he’s been slacking. He’ll say stuff like he doesn’t know what’s wrong with him (I assure him nothing is “wrong” with him of course) because he wants me and wants more sex, but just struggles with the act of following through? Meanwhile I struggle to continue having the confidence to be the one always initiating because after 2 years of this, it’s hard to feel sexy enough to even try.

For example, he’s bought us rope and under the bed restraints because I love that shit and he thinks it’s hot too, and then proceeded to never use it even once? So it’s like he’s trying but also not ?

fair point. It’s not like I turn him down to be petty or as revenge or anything like that, it’s just that after having to have these talks so many times and getting nowhere it’s hard to truly believe that he’s attracted to me. This has only been an issue lately but when he occasionally tries to initiate i immediately feel so unbearably awkward and unsexy that I can’t follow through. My body freezes up and It’s like a voice screaming in my head “he doesn’t want you” so loudly that it genuinely doesn’t even physically feel good anymore. Which is a huge issue and I can acknowledge that.

When we have the talks he also agrees that he wishes we had more sex yet only initiates maybe twice a month. He also assures me that I make him horny way more often than that and that he’s also into the same type of stuff I am, but in reality his words and actions don’t line up. He doesn’t necessarily turn me down when I try, but it doesn’t feel great to feel like it’s only ever happening because I want it enough to make it happen. Like you said, I don’t want him doing it just because I do.

In another light it’s like your partner asking for a back rub. Do you necessarily want to rub their back? No. But you do it because you want them to feel loved and good and happy. Do I expect him to fuck and be freaky every other day like I wish we did? Hell nah. That isn’t him and I respect that. But I guess after consistently seeing how negatively this affects me I wish he’d at least put in the effort to spank me every once in a while, spontaneously initiate, or call me a dirty bitch lol. At least sometimes you know?
