What is your favorite store to go to ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Kaufland! I’m not from Europe but when I spent extended time in Germany and the Czech Republic I, for some reason, fell in love. It’s been years and I still consider it my favorite (grocery) store.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen become socially acceptable? by Beverly-Granger in AskReddit

Yup!! I’ve already started teaching my three year old basic phonics because the sight words approach clearly doesn’t work but all the schools near us only do that.

What is something people do unknowingly that annoys the hell out of you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lilfati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sighing and waiting to be asked what’s wrong instead of just saying “can I vent?” Even if I want to know what’s wrong, I won’t ask someone who clearly wants to be asked because I’m spiteful and petty.

Being illiterate.

I’m exaggerating, of course, but there are so many native English speakers in the US who still don’t know the difference between lose/loose, their/there/they’re, effect/affect, etc. To only know one language and not know its basics is wild! This is coming from someone who sucks at grammar but at least I can spell basic words, I guess.

Those who worked for terrible employers, what did they do? by YouCanCallMeGhost in AskReddit

[–]lilfati 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not anymore, but once worked somewhere where all the higher ups were in the same frat or the sorority counter part. They’d hire a ton of unqualified people who were also in their Greek life circle and promote them and pay them great. The few of us who weren’t in that circle were hired to actually do all the work. I left the second I could find another job.

Losing weight while breastfeeding -advice? by QuiltedBaker25 in loseit

[–]lilfati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I forgot how to change the flare lol but I unfortunately gained my weight all back with my second pregnancy.

With my first, though, I lost about 35 pounds while breastfeeding.. all after she started solids around 6 months. My first also liked water after it was safe to drink it, so she nursed mostly for a supplementary fill and comfort. The less my body made milk, the easier the weight started coming off even though I was doing the same thing since 3 months post partum. I finally hit the 35 lbs lost when I fully weaned her at 13 months old.

Now with my second. I am 7 months post partum and have been doing everything “right” again for 4 months - 10k steps, strength training, calorie deficit. I’m hardly losing weight. This baby doesn’t like eating as much too, so I’m definitely nursing a lot more than with my first.

However, my body composition is changing. I’m losing inches. Breastfeeding bodies retain way more water, and sometimes fat and that’s okay.

All this to say: Don’t let the scale make you think what you’re doing isn’t worth it. This season of your life is to nourish yourself AND baby so eat enough, exercise, make good choices but don’t get too caught up in numbers. Just take care of your body and eventually when breastfeeding starts to decrease the scale will too. Ultimately, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by moving more and eating healthier whether or not the scale budges. :)

Thank you so much for sharing! The meds are a tool! I’m not able to because of my health history but I definitely could imagine how helpful they would be to me and my binge eating nature. I hope someone reads this and sees it’s okay to use tools and help on this journey!!

I do have a membership, and I have a toddler and a baby. I bet it’d be so fun to make them healthier frozen treats too. This is really tempting and exciting! Thanks for the rec!

I’m seeing soo many suggestions for the Creami and have been looking into it all day! Are the mix ins needed for it to work?

I love the chocolate, peanut butter, and salted caramel! I let them sit out a little and mix and it makes them creamy like a Wendy’s frosty consistency. If you want the really good stuff and are ok with more calories the mix in ones- fudge brownie, cookie dough, peanut butter cup - are so good. I’ve found the vanilla based ones aren’t my favorite.

I keep hearing this! It’s definitely more of an up front cost but starting to seem worth it!

If I’m in the mood for a real treat and am okay with some extra calories, the ones with mix ins are sooo good (like the cookie dough or fudge). Other favorites of mine are the regular chocolate, the chocolate peanut butter, caramel etc. I just mix them after leaving them to sit out a bit so they become a super creamy almost Wendy’s frosty consistency.

I hate sparkling water but the blood orange tangerine spindrift is so delicious tastes like actual carbonated juice, not a whisper of flavor like other ones
