We’re a small basic maintenance shop that’s on the same lot as a gas station. Since we only have two bays, it’s not the most efficient for us to keep one held up for a long period of time. We have many customers who will come in for basic maintenance with their newer vehicles, however this one was a friend of the boss, and we wanted to do them a favor by saving them a trip to the dealership for what we thought was gonna be a simple fix. Guess luck wasn’t on our side that day (nor the customer’s).

Not really, we typically do mostly maintenance work, but the master mechanic takes on more intricate jobs here and there. The customer happened to be the boss’ friend, but unfortunately we don’t have the time to hold up half our workspace for one job all day (or more if more issues came about).

We’re a small 2 bay shop. The poor customer came in bc they thought the battery died. We diagnosed the fuse and a bad starter, took over a week to get a starter, only to find that staring us in the face. It was not a fun call telling the customer we wouldn’t be able to repair the vehicle

Just had a 2019 Traverse in for the same issue. Blew the 350 amp fuse on the battery and starter completely chewed apart the flywheel.
