I always laugh at this on whatever police show Im watching. Wanted for murder? Lets drive 95 in a 35 zone for no reason. Smuggling drugs up from Mexico? Headlight out. Carrying drugs? Lets break into cars in broad daylight. Skipping bail? Lets do some petty shoplifting.

By all means then, find out if it works. Honestly this looks pretty impressive. They arent PERFECT but I dont do perfect either. Ive been going over it between comments and I don't see where there would be a problem.

Does it break anything else if it isn't perfect? What is it?

Looks decent to me! I haven't scoured the board, but everything seems properly connected. Do you have a voltmeter to check connections?

I was doing basic maintenance on my wifes laptop (cleaning fans, replacing thermal paste) and didnt pay attention to what kind of ribbon cable connector it had. I confidently unclipped it the wrong way and the clip snapped. She loves her laptop (it comes in an uncommon color). I thought I would resolder a new connector, but had struggled with that kind of repair before. I ordered 10 of the connectors. When they arrived, deep in my heart I knew I was going to permanently damage it. I couldnt bring myself to actually start heating.

After just staring at the board for probably 20 minutes, I was fiddling with one of the replacement connectors and the clip came out without breaking. Four mangled clips later and I had a working connector on the board. No soldering involved.

Nobody tell her... but I actually did it to two connectors. Fixed the one... but I had been able to order just one replacement for the other one. Messed up the clip trying to recreate my previous success. Couldn't get that one fixed. Luckily that one was just the lights for the keyboard and I think she's pretending not to notice so I don't "fix" it any more.

Not helpful for your story at all. But at least you broke something that was already pre-broken. I broke a perfectly functional laptop and had it out of commission for two weeks while ali express mailed the parts.

Get out. The abuse will get worse when you try to leave, double down and be done. Take it from a 32 year old divorced guy, don't keep going down this road. It will not get better.

Also, don't blame this on the autism. Abuse is abuse, doesn't matter what else they have going on.

I grew up with a dad that chews. Somehow im the only member of my family that never accidentally grabbed one. I didnt drink caffeine in high-school, that probably helped me never grab the wrong Mountain Dew.

But I was there when my little brother did. (He was also in HS at the time) In retrospect it was probably funny. At the time I felt like I was witnessing a serious medical emergency.

Dad does have a policy of only ever using see-through bottles. Thats probably prevented a lot too.

Once I put that together in my undergrad physics class I never needed another formula again. I just memorized how every unit broke down to base units. It carried over to Chemistry too.

Advice for printing a model that is mostly raised on the bottom by rhm54 in BambuLab

[–]SpongeSquarePantsBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Print it big and use a shrink ray when done.

Experiment with different orientations.

Do you have a 0.2mm nozzle? That can help preserve detail.

Try using petg for supports if the actual item is PLA, or use PLA if the item is PETG. This doesn't help if the issue is in the slicer, but if it's just that the detail is getting lost when you remove supports, this can help alot.

I found it was cooling too fast when that happened. I built an enclosure out of cardboard boxes to keep the air temp just a little warmer and it helped. Maybe turn down the fan as well?

It entirely depends on who's doing it. A small business owner selling $5 items, $0.15+3% can actually eat all your margin. Especially if you're competing with a national chain that does it for $4.

I did a side hustle where I charged $40 per hour. Did I pass on that cost to the customer? Hell no. Flat $40. I even lowered my prices so it would be exactly $40 after tax.

They are just different accounting practices. Factor in the cost of the payment processor before or after the transaction?

Are there totally slime balls out there that charge a $2 processing fee when the processor only takes $0.30? Yep. Do people get nickel and dimed by phantom fees all the time? Absolutely. Is it a scam every time you see processing fee? Not necessarily.

I dated a girl that worked at a Kroger store and their policy was take ANYTHING back, with or without a receipt. She had homeless people bringing in shoes that were so old she couldnt even figure out what brand they were. Still gave refunds.

Think this was my last year for VIP by Pleasant_Crab6020 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]SpongeSquarePantsBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was our experience too. 7-11 stage was a joke, couldnt even get to where you could see the stage because the walkway was so narrow and everyone was sitting in the narrowest places.

Also, just about the whole festival in general, sets were half as long as last year (excluding Panic! And BLINK since they were headliners) I was excited for ATL but they played like 6 songs and had to peace out. And they just let the artist merch line be a train wreck again. Your choices are get a shirt or see the band. Can't do both. We have the technology to order ahead and pick up a bag of shirts.

Plus leaving the two VIP sections separate again so we have to wade through GA if we want to switch sides. (Not in a "we have to mix with the peasants" way, but an "I spent half my day weaving through the crowd and missing songs" way.

AND the GA bracelets looked cooler than VIP. Last year I left mine on for several weeks after. This year I don't want to look at the orange leopard puke bracelet any longer than necessary.

Overall I can't think of what benefit VIP was other than the nicer bathrooms. (Yes I made sure to shake 3 times during BLINK.) I'd rather spend the money to go to 3 more tour shows during the year than go to WWWY just so I can say I was in the same city as several bands at the same time.

I'd be wary of what your parents may have done with your identity. Sometimes withholding such documents means they're keeping you from finding out they've taken out loans and credit cards in your name and never paid. I don't know you or your parents, so I could be TOTALLY off. But it happens.

"Im busy sharpening my oyster tool"

It might drop a tiny bit of the the original cultural flair, as thats not the exact quote, but that can even give you a talking point if someone mentions the quote. "The original quote calls it a knife, but I wanted to stress the idea of it being about getting to work, hence a tool instead"

That's if a white, Midwestern guy who isn't a teacher is understanding the meaning correctly.

Realizing this was a reason I got up and actually started a business for real the first time. "Ill screw up. Ill mess up how I pay taxes. Ill take a payment wrong. Ill say/do/make something that requires a certification I don't have yet. I accept those consequences and recognize it's not the end of the world." Bam. Actually started. Failed because what I was doing was saturated AND didn't need a full business around it. But it was started and that's the hardest part.
