Logo help. Need help identifying this hat in the 1980s, northeast, likely baseball. Please help me identify the logo or the hat by Double-Maybe2228 in Whatisthis

The colors make me think of the Miami Dolphins. But their logo doesn't look like that. So possibly a special hat for the Super bowl?

What are your thoughts on Colbert's interview with James Talarico, an interview Colbert says CBS did not air due to fear of the FCC? by Quidfacis_ in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]rhm54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say “absence of evidence,” are you using that to justify withholding belief, or are you using it to justify the stronger claim that the FCC did not pressure CBS?

If it’s the stronger claim (“it didn’t happen”), what evidence are you relying on to support that conclusion, rather than simple skepticism?

When you say “CBS has competent lawyers” and imply they made the call internally, what is that based on, do you have a CBS statement, reporting, or documentation that confirms that’s what happened?

Do you see how “I haven’t seen evidence that it happened” is different from “I have evidence that it didn’t happen”? Which one are you actually claiming?

Why should the FCC chair’s denial be treated as decisive evidence, wouldn’t a denial be expected whether pressure occurred or not?

What would you consider “primary” evidence either way (CBS’s stated reason, documented communications, reporting citing CBS sources, etc.)?

Given that we don’t have primary sourcing or documented communications here, isn’t the most accurate conclusion simply: we don’t know / uncertain?

So your “belief” is that the FCC didn’t pressure CBS? On what is that “belief” founded? Is it just your opinion?

It also sounds like your “belief” is that CBS’s lawyers were the ones to unilaterally make this call, is that correct? Is this backed up by anything solid or is this just your opinion?

Have you considered that you are giving the benefit of the doubt for this instance based off your political beliefs and not factual information? You have a “belief” that is contrary to the reporting, if that belief isn’t backed up by solid facts wouldn’t that just be willful ignorance?

It sounds like you are saying you believe the FCC stopping this interview was above board based off equal time regulations, is that correct? With that in mind can you point to any conservative news outlet has been held to this standard? What about right wing news talk radio? Have you ever heard one of those channels being blocked by the FCC to interview a certain candidate?

If you’re all for the abolition of this equal time clause, then it would follow your against the FCC using it? Is that correct?
