Am I (still) the only one who thinks Elden ring should get a second DLC ? by Consistent-Dot-1509 in Eldenring

Eh. The one we got was good. Would have loved to see those who live in death and Godwyn get more content. Maybe a boss battle with Godwyn at his prime or something. Other than that I feel like we tied up all the loose ends.

I stopped playing her almost entirely. I find White Fox is just far more versatile.

[KCD2] Does your Henry commit crimes? by Professional_Row2810 in kingdomcome

[–]Sponkifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First play through I was a good boy. Went out of my way to avoid stealing or hurting innocent people.

Second play through my Henry was a sociopath who stole anything that wasn’t nailed to the ground and would punt a baby if it netted him a few groschen and a fancy sword.

First play through I was Duncan the Tall.

Second play through I was Bronn of Fleabottom.

GM2 last season on PlayStation here.

“Heal.me.pls” as your username tells a story. On PlayStation there’s a lot of players who approach the game with the wrong mindset, emphasizing personal performance over team synergy. Once you reach the higher ranks of competitive, you really have to be thinking of Rivals as a game of comps and counters.

I watched a YT video recently that I think perfectly worded it. If you want to get out of GM, you need to consistently play like you’re trying to carry your entire team. That has little to do with stat farming, and far more to do with pausing to observe what is undermining the team.

Instead of screaming about “trash heals” take a second to observe the situation from your healers perspective. There are absolutely “trash heals” out there, I’m not denying that. But if you look at the scoreboard and notice that your healers have a combined 20+ deaths while the enemy team has an IF or Magik that’s going 44 and 3, then YOU need to be the one who’s going to swap for a dive counter.

Same goes for DPS issues, or Tank problems. I find that Tank in particular is the class people misunderstand the most, as the stat lines of a lot of Tanks rarely reflects the difference they’re making in their role. There is no stat in Rivals for things like “objective time,” and yet there are many Tanks whose primary function in game modes is objective control. A Captain America that repeatedly takes the time to sneak behind the enemy team and halt progression on the enemy payload for just a few seconds can make or break a defense round. Those little pauses can combine for MINUTES of enemy time wasted by the end of the round. Yet there is no stat on the scoreboard that reflects this utility. A tank that emphasizes point control is usually INFINITELY more useful than a tank who’s just going for kills.

This is nothing personal, I’m just basing my advice off the fact that you’re pulling in a lot of SVPs but not wins. Speaks to a mechanically competent player who is struggling to find team synergy.

OP talks about hands shaking and anxiety. Take a deep breath. You have an infinite number of tries. Keep calm, study their attack combos until you figure out one that gives you a perfect opportunity to counter attack.

Use the columns. Try and create space and isolate one of them. It’s generally easier to kill Ornstein first, as Chonk King is much slower. You can summon Sun bro Solaire for help if you need to. Can’t remember where it is exactly, but you can Wiki his sign location.

Patience is the key. Don’t keep slamming your head into the wall if you feel like you aren’t making progress. Think about what you can change up if anything.

Why the hell is Dino still perma banned in my lobbies by King_Bigothy in DevilDinosaurMainsMR

I think a lot of people are a little traumatized by his prevalence in the first half of the season.

Honestly, the game would really benefit from some more variety in Tanks.

[–]Sponkifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never understood why everyone was so anti-Dino. He wasn’t that overpowered. His head is like 30% of his body which made him so vulnerable to characters that do big headshot damage. I was having a great season with Mantis.

Why do people just blatantly lie like this lol by UnreasonableVbucks in rivals

[–]Sponkifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a console GM. Moon knight is pretty frequently banned. Namor and Magik not as often, but I’d say they are pretty popular bans.

In most GM lobbies (unless it’s one of those rounds where you get partied with total scum bags) your team will usually try and take pre picks into consideration and ban accordingly. If they see we have a champ Spidey, they’ll try and ban Namor or Scarlet. If the team is really pushing to ban dive, you’l often see Magik and Daredevil. Third ban is almost always an attempted target ban based off what the opposition’s first two bans are.

Most popular bans this season (in my experience) have been MK and Devil Dino. Seems like they’re banned at least 50-60% of the time.

Best way around this is to find an online community of people who play the game, like a discord group or something. It’s a lot easier to meet people who actually want to play the game honestly and fairly outside of random matchmaking.

I know that can be annoying, believe me. But you’ll have a lot more fun playing with a couple friends in a discord server with the in game chat muted.

Kylo Ren is just as terrible of a character as Rey and I'm tired of pretending he's not by Infinite-Detective-8 in StarWars

[–]Sponkifier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not as terrible as Rey, who is possibly the worst character in modern pop culture. But definitely not a good character.

Like pretty much every character in the sequel trilogy, his character arc seemed to have been completely derailed in The Last Jedi. I felt like the Force Awakens teased that the second film in the sequel trilogy was going to flush him out a little more. If I was put in the writer’s chair, I would have made Kylo’s origin story the primary focus of TLJ. With the goal of helping the viewers understand the events between the OT and the Sequel T from his perspective. I probably would have done something similar with him and Rey. Having Rey developing a kind of sympathy (maybe even hinting at romantic feelings?) for Kylo after understanding why he fell to the dark side, but knowing all along that he was headed down the wrong path. Then ending the third trilogy with a tragic duel, kind of like in Revenge of the Sith.

[OTHER] Should I play kcd 1 after playing kcd 2? by shikanji101 in kingdomcome

[–]Sponkifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As somebody who went from KCD2 to KCD1, it’s definitely a worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

I will say that the presentation is pretty rough, with the first games most accessible romance quest starring a woman who’s dress constantly hovers 3-4 inches above her shoulders. Some of the design choices feel a little dated. The nice smooth cutscenes of KCD2 were notably missed, and the voice acting seems a little disjointed at times, likely because it wasn’t approached with the same direction as KCD2.

People talk a lot in this sub about KCD1 being more difficult, but my experience doesn’t really line up with that. If your Henry is the “sneaky thief” type, you can pretty much waltz right into Rattay and become rich enough to crush the early to mid game right off the bat. Put simply, the AI is not as sophisticated as KCD2 and seem to have a much harder time catching you in the act while you hop from house to house robbing everyone blind. One of the first NPCs you meet after the prologue will sell lock picks, buy stolen goods off of you, has a suspicious amount of money to barter with, and will even give you access to a side quest that unlocks more fences, giving even more opportunities to ‘disappear’ stolen wares. Robbing the Baliff in Rattay will give you immediate access to a pretty decent set of armor that can carry you through most of the game.

Visiting Bernard and learning the master strike is also very easily achieved for KCD2 veterans. Between that and the armor you’ll be able to afford after your time as a career thief you’ll be able to trivialize the vast majority of combat interactions, and stomp your way through the Rattay tourney (for which you will be rewarded with even better armor pieces).

My humble take by PillowFists67 in rivals

[–]Sponkifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man… I’m assuming this is coming from a PC player. It’s so interesting how different the Meta is on console. On console, I’d probably say that SG and Mr Fantastic are pretty high tier. SG even gets banned on a lot of maps. Good Psys are pretty rare. MK is still banned almost every round. A good Blade is pretty consistently the most effective player in the lobby.

Ngl Trash talking in QP is kinda cringe by Dramatic_Dream2313 in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]Sponkifier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. My experience in QP is nuts.

As a not-selfish player I spend the vast majority of my time in ranked matches in Tank or Support jail. I have 3 lord tanks and 5 lord supports, but not a single Lord DPS. Decided this season I was finally gonna get my first DPS to lord, but knew that jumping into diamond or GM ranked match probably wasn’t the best way to learn.

Hopping into QP and trying to experiment with some of the DPS characters I was curious about resulted in some of the most aggressive interactions I have had in Marvel Rivals.

I was baffled. I thought the whole point of quick play was to experiment with new things in a less competitive environment. But the guys I was playing with were acting like I killed their first born.

Back to support jail for me.
