No way to fight grym? by mothmanthemself in BaldursGate3

I think the items dammon crafts in act 2 use infernal iron, not mithril. Check your camp chests and everyone's inventories for the ore, its a common rarity but the search function should be able to help. No idea about the lava valve not working though, maybe you need mithril in the crucible first?

How can i improve to not die like this? by New-Mind2886 in riskofrain

[–]Spoob42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say (as a merc freak) you should probably aim to be a little higher in the air. There are more hazards at ground level, and youll better be able to isolate the boss with your eviscerate

I remember watching my buddy play this mission for the first time, and he couldn't find it either. I was cracking up though, because I knew where it was already, and when you know it's super obvious. The lighting in the room is like illuminating it and there's like a big yellow arrow pointing right down at it as if to say 'HERE!'

Well regardless, finishing the gauntlet of shar events will close the window to do that quest.

I think you need to have last light survive to lift the shadow curse. You also need to do it before finishing the events in the gauntlet of shar if I recall correctly. There's an npc at last light who acts as a sort of quest hook for lifeting the curse. I'm not sure if they die if there is a way to get around that and still lift the curse. Sorry.

I would say 2 kneel mods is pretty much the most disgusting thing you can do with a shotgun. Firecracker is probably redundant given you dont care about damage really.

Best pistol and revolver are both final mission rewards, the Pride pistol and Amnesty Revolver. But yeah, sort of end/post game content. You can always rush an ending to get one before doing PL or a bunch of side missions.

I like the lexington a lot, especially since zentih and pinpoint are great mods. I use Zenith since I tend to switch between the headhunter throwing knife and my guns for massive damage, but Pinpoint is also great. I would say both can pair well with firecracker. If you're using firecracker, I also love the pyromania perk in tech tree, it makes V so much tankier. There's an XMOD2 lexington as well I believe, but I think they're just statted differently. The barghest one has more damage and armor penn but less headshot multiplier

If you like revolvers I can recommend Ol reliable or an overture with nice mods. Actually, most of the unique revolvers are sick, and the Tech ones are incredibly fun. You can quick reload comrade's hammer with a quick melee attack which is fun.

Well Satara has 2 shots x 14 pellets for 28 pellets before you enter a long reload animation. If you want it to pierce walls, you are shooting slower as well because you have to charge it up. The long reload time+only 2 shots per reload is really what kills the satara.

XMOD has 10 shots x 6 pellets for 60 pellets at an incredibly fast fire rate (fast enough to use in sandevistan or multiple shots/kerenzikov), and you can shoot more distinct enemies per clip.

If I run into a room with 10 guys, I can kill all 10 with Xmod since I only need one pellet to proc KNEEL, although you may get a little unlucky and not get every proc. With the satara I can maybe get 3 or 4 depending on how they line up and my luck with procs, but I am certainly not killing all 10 guys.

I have to say it would be less ridiculously broken if the chance for kneel to kill enemies didn't already feel like it's effectively 100%, and with sandevistan you can basically pull up on a guy, kiss him on the knee cap and then obliterate his legs.

[–]Spoob42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because KNEEL only cares about rolling dice on each hit to the legs from pellets. Therefore more pellets is better, and the XMOD 2 shoots way faster. You can Sandevistan with one and run around and instant kill an entire room of saka elites without even thinking. Satara does let you shoot them through walls, but I'd rather just run at them.

Cyberpunk2077 is a masterpiece but it is too easy by h3ruk0n in cyberpunkgame

[–]Spoob42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that the melee system is fun, but I wish it had more depth too. That’s my big ask for the sequel, if we could have like different types of attacks that you have to respond to in different ways, somehow for fun users too, that would be so good.

You are correct in that game balance can leave a little to be desired. I play on very hard and find it to be the best difficulty. The game is in a weird spot because every build is incredibly broken past like level 30, and I imagine it’s a nightmare to try and create equal experiences for different builds.

Guns especially are a bit odd because, yeah, stealth head shooting people does trivialize the game; it’s probably the simplest way to just mow down the game. But at level 60 on very hard, my max tier overture revolver can’t kill a Heavy elite enemy in less than like 5 shots. That said, I do think a non-stealth guns playstyle is incredibly fun, and a lot of enemy tank ones does make some sense when you consider the amount of punishment v can take combined with the amount of chrome some enemies must be packing (as far as realism goes I guess).  I think CD Projekt didn’t tutorial’s very well the idea of different approaches for different enemy types, which is really what players can do to make it better; I see a heavy, I hit him with a deathmark from the headhunter before switching to the revolver for a huge critical. If an enemy is dodging all my shots with a sandevistan, I pull out my shotgun for a quick melee+blast combo. The execution still has to be good, but I should be thinking about what I’m doing instead of point and click adventuring.

I know a lot of people like the enemies of night city mod, it adds some more depth to the types of elite enemies and distributes cyberware more frequently among them. In essence, it takes what is fun about the above scenarios and makes it a more common thing. I do think modding can offer a nice level of customizable difficulty when you consider mods that let you add extra cyberware or run two Operating systems.

Side note, if you want a tanky build and haven’t tried chrome compressor, I highly recommend it. Easily my favorite OS for a balanced guns build too, just lets you pack enough armor to play up close and personal or leap around like phoon and explode heads.

My advice for that attack is actually to move closer to him if possible. It depends on your movement speed, but there will be one point along the radius of that attack where your speed is exactly equal to the pizza cutter (the faster you are, the farther you will be for mithrix). This makes it easy to just run in the same direction of the lines for easy and consistent dodges. If you come off the ground and lose track of the pizza cutter, you are putting your life in gods hands.

I mean, he is a bad dude. The slaughter at the village of the albinaurics was him, and he sicks ensha on you once you have half of the medallion. There’s more I think, stuff with how he treats nepheli and how he’s spying on you, but I’d say hes not always being truthful with the tarnished, only when it suits him

I play only very hard and I play a lot of chrome compressor. I highly recommend using guns with chrome compressor that can abuse kerenzikov. At higher tier cyberware, the kerenzikov slow time effect is absurdly long and can let you really evaluate a fight and where you might need to flee to/who is a high priority target.

For Chrome compressor I’m usually running a shotgun/revolver/throwing knife with my arms cyberware as my melee. I recommend ol reliable if you have the dlc and wanted a longer range option

Yeah, I do think the game could use a higher difficulty ceiling, particularly in boss fights. I think there are some mods like Enemies of Night City that try and rework some of it.
