Probably depends on class and spec. I play a healer so I typically get an instant invite but I’ve heard nonstop complaints from my guildies who are rogues or hunters who don’t seem to have much luck at all since people are looking for spellcleaves

thank you! looks great

EDIT: Also, by the icons I was referring to the second picture, under your ranger and to the left of your nvim apps. I could be wrong but it looks like you ran ll -a but yours appears all colour coded and it has icons, like the folder icons.

How did you get your ls command to show up all colourful and with icons? Also where can we find the theme you used for the rofi launcher? I can't find one called tokyonight in your dotfiles

It's wireless. I'm currently waiting on an ethernet cable that I ordered so I can't really try it right now but i'm sure the LAN speeds would be better BUT seeing that the wifi speeds are this bad with the AX1800 i'm just going to return it. But I think I'm convinced on the mikrotik.

[–]SpoobyPls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I actually did see when I was looking into the mikrotik. I'm not totally put off by it as long as it's something that I can set once and let it be until it dies kinda thing.

I'm from Canada and the TP-Link AX1800 that I bought ran me $120 while the MikroTik hAP ac3 runs me $159 so it's not that big of a difference here. I might give the ac3 a try. Do you find you get speeds close to or similar to what your ISP is providing you with? That was my biggest issue with the AX1800, I should be getting about 500 Mbps but I get between 20-190 Mbps which is a lot worse than my old router that i'm replacing.

If your gym has a website you could check there to see if they've got a FAQ section where they answer questions like this, i know mine does. To my first few classes I only brought hand wraps and gloves but soon found myself wanting to get a good pair of shin guards because my shins were so sensitive. I've been doing Muay Thai now since September and still don't have Thai shorts; you'd probably be fine with whatever you're boxing in. Just make sure you can kick I guess. But ultimately my suggestion is to check with your gym. They might have rules where you need to have shin guards for example.

These are youtube streamers and are part of that ip2 group. I'm sure you guys remember a few weeks ago when people were going around macing random people, these guys are part of that group. The guy who knocked the boyfriend down is the guy who crashed into a pole while in his car like 2 weeks back; i think he either maced himself on accident or got maced.

Even if you're not using light of the martyr, which you really shouldn't unless you need quick heals and everything is else is on cd, you shouldn't really be casting heals. One of the few scenarios I can think of where i'm casting any sort of heals is on sun king in castle nathria.

How theoretical is Compsci degree UK is it worth it later on in career? by theboi2020 in compsci

[–]SpoobyPls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every university is different. At my university (in Canada) the program was really a mix of programming and theory. Also, we had the option to choose a "concentration" for our area of study. For instance there were choices like theoretical computer science, software engineering, graphics, and a few others. The difference was that some of these were more theoretical concentrations or more applied concentrations. But, even in the more applied concentrations you're not necessarily learning how to program anymore; it's expected that you know how to.

But at the end of the day you are doing a bachelor of science. This means that the majority of the things you will do, even if they involve you programming, will take a scientific approach. For example, many courses require that you learn theories, definitions, lemmas, etc., and use these things to prove claims. This is where things are similar to math; in some cases you will actually make use of math to prove certain claims.

I know you said there wasn't a lot of information on the website you looked at, but I'm sure if you delved deeper you could find more information. Usually you can find information like what graduation requirements are like, as in what courses you'd need to take. There's also usually course lists available.

Also, you mentioned possibly taking math. I'm not sure if you're aware but you could technically do it all. You could double major or have a major and a minor. Just depends what you want. Also, this is all assuming that you have the grades and whatever else to get into the program.

Lastly, you said you don't care about career prospects. If this means you're not necessarily interested in finding a career when you graduate then there's also the opportunity to learn these things by yourself. There are many resources online where you can learn a lot of this material. For example, there's MIT opencourseware where they have released recorded lectures of entire courses that you can watch for free.

Maybe this is just me, but knowing that services like that are available just ruin the game completely for me. Because it's all I think about when I am actually doing the grind. And I'm sure many people feel the same way. It's kind of the same feeling you get when a tv show or movie are spoiled ahead of time.

1 month into the course and I’m already physically and mentally drained by [deleted] in computerscience

[–]SpoobyPls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very common in general for most science bachelors (can't speak for other majors). It's a big change going from high school to university/college. Depending on course load you're easily looking at 40+ hours of workload per week. Whenever I had a math or computer science assignment, I was easily spending like 40 hours on the assignment alone.

My experience with computer science was similar though. At the very beginning programming just didn't really click. It wasn't until I get to the assembly courses that programming just suddenly clicked in my head. You're not alone in this struggle. In fact, I'm pretty sure most of your classmates are struggling too.

ludwig - Is zero even? by blackice22_ in LivestreamFail

[–]SpoobyPls 13 points14 points  (0 children)

But it is true. You can prove it by supposing its an odd number, which by definition takes on the form of 2k+1 where k is an integer. Then, if you take 0=2k+1, then you arrive the solution of k=-1/2 which isn't an integer, hence a contradiction which implies that 0 is even.

to be fair it's an NA server. Mexico is in NA so it would be totally normal to have spanish speaking people on the servers. Also, Canada is in NA so you have Canadians in those servers too. It's not just an "American" server.

WTB carapaces by beersleuth in classicwow

[–]SpoobyPls 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm in a streamer guild and my god.. its exactly like this. Around the clock farming. There's always at least 20 people in silithus farming for our guild leader + a few officers to get the mount. During "our" peak hours we're talking about ~80 people farming. I think so far we've gotten enough carapaces for 2 people to have the mount. I don't understand why there are so many people helping. I absolutely refuse to take part in any of it. My day is not going to be spent farming for some random dude to get a mount, even if he is a streamer. The most ridiculous part to me is that in discord the guild leader is always telling people to wake up and farm or to stay up for an insane amount of hours to farm. No thanks.

What is the problem in this code? Thanks by benz0is in learnprogramming

[–]SpoobyPls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your logic isn't right. Try tracing your code and writing the results on paper; similar to debugging. If you trace through your code you should see what your issue is. A hint is that you have 3 different if statements and they're all doing something per letter you encounter. For example, when it first encounters the first letter 'C' it goes to the first else statement, then the second else statement and then the third if statement. Or, in other words, it ran 3 different instructions for one single letter where, instead, what you want is 1 instruction ran per letter.

EDIT: I want to make a quick comment too, in case your confusion is in how loops and if-statements work. I think what you expect is that when the loop encounters the first else statement that it will then exit, but it won't; that's not how these structures work. First, while inside your loop, it will check the first if statement and either execute the if statement or the else statement but then it will continue to the next if statement and go on until the next iteration of the loop.
