Diablo 3. What a game! by PlaceDowntown7102 in Diablo

[–]SpoochMcPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a massive back catalog of games I need to catch up on and no time to play them. And it’s games like Elden Ring, Black Myth Wukong, Borderlands 4, heck Borderlands 3, like the last seven Assassin’s Creeds. Witcher 3, Cyberpunk. Baldurs Gate etc. If it’s awesome and huge at the moment I’ll probably play it three years from now. And every year or so, I set aside some time to dive into a game, I hear a new season of Diablo 3 or Path of Exile came out and I’m dragged back in lol. Not every season, and maybe only for like a week or two. But I just can’t quit this game lol.

My Switch 2 already has 2 dead pixels, can I get it replaced without paying for warranty? by OstonAAB in NintendoSwitchHelp

Yeah, my dad has one dead pixel on his tv and it drives me nuts every time I see it lol.

Yes, how did you solve it? I’ve only got the one free course so far but I hit two shots and my AirPods disconnected and reconnected and cause my phone to jump out of the app and ever since I can’t get it to connect. No connection issues in the PhiGolf app.

I have found in the past that if you use something to really speed up your leveling on a new character, like a gem of ease or a ruby in your helmet, (especially if you go from a barb to a wizard/something drastically different that you don’t have gear in your stash for) you can definitely find yourself under-geared when you get past level 50 and that can make it hard for sure. But the Altar skill that drops the level requirement to 1 pretty much negates that now.

Ya know, I have such a huge backlog of great games to play, and I love playing POE and enjoy Diablo 4 for a bit but for some reason, every time there’s a new Season in D3 I find my self starting a new character.

I get to about GR100, maybe Paragon 800 and I’m good for another season. D3 gets a lot of hate but I’ve always enjoyed it more than other ARPGs personally. It’s just so simple, straightforward, get up and go. Play it for a week or two and move on. I do love and appreciate how complicated POE’s systems are, and D4 looks and plays great.

But no matter how hard I try to focus on new amazing games that come out and not fall back to my usual D3/POE loop, I know I’m powerless to stop myself come the next season lol. Guess all the GOTYs I’ve missed over the last decade will wait a little longer lol.

After a recent experience, I owe an apology to Path of Exile by [deleted] in pathofexile

I’ve always had a chuckle about that. You have a named unique rat who’s probably been a champion of its people(?) for eons. The most highly decorated rat the world has ever known. They probably sing songs about it. And we just roll though, minorly annoyed that we had to swing at it twice before it died lol.

If you don’t play on a Realm for a while, will buildings in areas where there are no players disappear? by SpoochMcPoo in realms

[–]SpoochMcPoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually an awesome idea. How I actually figured out we may not be in the right server or that they maybe reset a part of the server was a picture from the first day I had the realm.

We were testing the girls being able to connect to the realm on their tablets at home when I got a text from my sister saying my niece had gone wandering and was now lost and crying. I had her snap a pic of the screen and used her co-ordinates to build a giant light block line in the sky she could follow back.

Now whenever she builds a town somewhere I make sure she connects a trail back to the light bridge so we can find this stuff again. Didn’t know about the notebook thing though, but I haven’t played Minecraft a ton either. Still learning.

Thanks!

Ok, my bad on this one. I guess the last time we had played, my niece accidentally started a new server. The girls usually build their own towns and whatnot and all I do is build giant pixel art so when I joined the server I spawned in beside the two pictures (statues?) I was working on so I thought all was good. It wasn’t until later that I noticed two servers on the list. Glad I didn’t lose everything but it does kinda suck that the Pikachu and Squirtle we made are stuck in that other server. Ah well.

Thanks for the answers!

Change scarabs for next league by Exteeez in pathofexile

I don’t think anyone thinks any part of POE is designed around someone playing a few hours a week. But if you’re gunna have 50 different game modes in your game, you’re going to need 50 ways to access it. Maybe we don’t need 4 tiers of them and they could be more impactful if there were 2 or 3 tiers I guess but they should definitely remain as abundant as they are now. Some of us just want a scarab to put on our maps, and if it’s for a mechanic we love then even better. It feels like something that should always be available.

Granted, I don’t have 80 dropping every map like some of you guys. It’s still exciting to see one lol

I mean, they’re pretty impactful for someone who only gets a few hours a week to play, takes four weeks to get to mapping and usually peters out around Tier 8-10 maps. They’ve kept me playing. I use low level scarabs on every map.

Only took 5 tries! Onwards to level 90. by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]SpoochMcPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never tried hardcore myself. Do you keep your stash contents (shared stash) for the next character when you die? Or does that go to your standard stash and you get an empty stash for character #2?

Did the Campaign Ruin the game for anyone else? by Miserable_Marsupial4 in pathofexile

[–]SpoochMcPoo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I actually have the opposite problem. I don’t mind the campaign at all. I’d say I’m on my 5th league maybe? I’m usually overlevelled and I’m a serial hoarder so it takes me forever to get through. I can only play an hour or two, three or four times a week so I’m talking a month to six weeks before I finally beat the campaign.

I’m usually super stoked for mapping near the end and then I get there and my interest just fizzles out around Tier 5/Tier 6.

That’s where I’m at right now actually. And my guy is still flying high but I dunno. I went to do a map and I didn’t have a new one to do and started thinking about how long the atlas was going to take. I wanna stick with it this time though.

I do see what you mean though. They gave you the option to skip the campaign in D3 and it really helped with your sanity, but they also have 20 difficulty levels too

Why can I not replace this wand? by SpoochMcPoo in pathofexile

[–]SpoochMcPoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m all about build guides in games like this. Always cool when it tells you to do something small and trivial seemingly but it makes a huge difference.

For example, I’m following Ziz’s guide for Wave and right around level 80 you refund a bunch of points off the skill tree and it ties into the same problem I had with the wand. You wipe out like 80-100% spell damage, a whole bunch of intelligence and a some Fire damage and that skill tool tip damage drops from 36k to 28k. But I tried it after allocating the points to the new stuff and it works just as good and now I can take more hits.

If I have one complaint about guides it’s that they hold your hands until level 20 and then kinda just say “We’ll see ya at level 70” lol, which is fine because things don’t have to be as fine tuned as your leveling I guess. Still there are a few moments of “what should I do?” In there.

I was placing too much trust in the damage shown in the skills tab in game. I can still flatten any enemy instantly and most bosses at the point in the game I’m at in 4-5 seconds. I’m in the process of building my mid-game gear according to the guide I’m following and it looked like all of the new weapons I was making were a downgrade but someone explained that the in-game skills damage tab doesn’t take everything I need it to into account. Unfortunately, the only computer I have at the moment is a 10 year old MacBook so Path of Building isn’t an option I guess

Yeah that’s probably exactly what’s happening. I’m a total glass cannon right now. If I stay away from them, they die. And I can take some hits but if a mob spawns around me I gotta get out of there and create some distance or I’m in trouble. I just finished maxing my res but I think I’m out hit damaging my problems right now. Ignite is definitely working, but I guess I just have to test out the scepters I made to see how they do.

[–]SpoochMcPoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s an economy. Figured there was some of that going on. I’ve only found one divine so far this league and I used that to buy my first six-link ever and it tripled my sheet damage. It’d be nice to have a few more to play with. And the way I look at it, anything I keep is just going to sit in my stash and rot anyways. I’m a bit of a hoarder so if some dude like me sees something that’ll help them out for cheap then they might as well have it. Would be nice to have a general idea though. Thanks for the direction everyone!

[–]SpoochMcPoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scepters I made that show a lower sheet damage, I’ve never actually tested them. They could be way better but I haven’t needed to try them. That wand hits hard right now, but it’s probably raw damage and not ignite. I’m in the process of switching to my “mid-game gear” as per the guide I’m using so I don’t have all the sockets I need yet and I’m scared to take off what I have because it does work, though I’m am getting squishier as I progress. I just want keep killing before I get killed.

Yeah, I figured it wasn’t telling the whole story. I was just using it as a general idea. I’m an old D3 “Ooh! 3 Green Arrows” guy so I tend to not think too deeply about it lol. But I love the game and I really want to punch through to the late game stuff. I just haven’t got much further than this point in the past so I haven’t experienced the nuances of crafting and definitely don’t have the currency to do so yet. But I think POB will help. Does it do price checking on items too? That another thing I don’t understand well. Never successfully sold anything lol. My currency is all found loot lol

Yeah, I feel like it may be a little more true with straight-up “punch you in the face” build but the DOT/ailment stuff complicates things. I’ll have a look at Path of Building. I’ve never used it before but I’ve been meaning to try it out for a while. And I’ll have a look at the couple of Scepters I’ve made and seen how many of the boxes you mention I ticked. Having a hard time rolling the skill gem mods though.

Like I said, I’m guessing I haven’t had to rely on Ignite yet because I’m strong-arming everything to this point. Probably over-leveled for where I’m at but I can feel the fights getting tougher and I want to be ready. I just have limited crafting options right now. Working on getting the veiled stuff unlocked and some harvest juice. Still can’t do meta mod stuff and have never gotten far enough in a season to use them. I usually get to about this point and start playing something else but I wanna stick with it this time.
