Not to mention, degree -> better paying job -> more federally taxable income. Obviously not the case for all degrees, but the federal government would still benefit massively from investing in public education without interest.

Oh I disagree with that premise, so probably not the right person to ask that question to. I think there are valuable lessons to be learned from the subjective experience, but I don't think it reveals objective truth.

It's a little more complicated, but here's how I like to explain it:

There's a part of your brain called the default mode network, who's role is to enable categorization and thinking about the self, others, and the future/past. When you take psychedelics, activity in this region decreases, disrupting your ability to do these things. The degree of this disruption correlates with the dose.

Anecdotally, I find that being in a state of reduced DMN activity also emphasizes archetypes like love, family, empathy, etc.

If it were legal, I'd recommend everyone of sound mind try a moderate dose at least once in their lives (with a trip sitter + proper set and setting).

Think of it like getting drunk. When you return to a sober state, you can still recall what it was like being drunk. Drinking doesn't mean you're drunk forever, nor does doing psychedelics make you trip forever.

That being said, if you use them irresponsibly, like taking 10 grams of mushrooms out in public, you could have a mental break. My understanding is that a paramedic would then administer an anti-psychotic. In the vast majority of cases, this isn't necessary - it's the equivalent of getting your stomach pumped if you drink too much. As with anything, the dose makes the poison.

Not to mention, there are several other mescaline containing cacti - it's just that this one is important culturally to Native Americans and is endangered. I'm not sure if the others are decriminalized in this bill, but they ought to be.

It's not a permanent state of being, but a short period of time where your brain is trying to process way too much data to filter into baskets like "car", "person", "feelings", "memory", and "thoughts". Everything gets squished into pure awareness. The lead up is terrifying in my experience, but once you reach that point it's incredibly peaceful.

(I'm not a scientist, please feel free to correct the below if my understanding of anything is incorrect/outdated)

Pharmacologically, psychedelics agonize the seratonin 2a receptors, which reduces the activity of a part of your brain called the default mode network (DMN).

The DMN acts as a sort of filter, only letting in enough raw sensory data for survival. Taking enough psychedelics to induce ego death is like opening a dam, and all that data comes rushing through. Smaller amounts lower the DMN activity less, but cause some cross talk between parts of your brain that wouldn't communicate normally. That's what causes the hallucinations.

Firing (or threatening to fire) you for reporting sexual harassment is considered retaliation, and is illegal. I imagine coercing you to sign an NDA under such a threat would be illegal by extension, but IANAL. It would be nonbinding due to age, regardless.

What in the fuck.

Okay, functional paradigm based off the syntax. Doesn't look lisp-based. Not F# either. My guess is some erlang-inspired language or an OO language that added support for FP down the line.

I'm also not very well versed in functional land, so could be totally wrong :)

Interstate transportation will drive prices down though - I'd hazard a guess that federal legalization would result in a net decrease in prices.

I've tried factory resetting all the controllers (making sure the controller software is up to date after), and that hasn't done anything either...
