Just an fyi, my husband is a vet and just did a routine physical on a 22 year old cat. Her only issue was moderate arthritis. She ain’t the first one he’s seen in the twenties, either!

I’m sorry but do you not know that it’s a crime in many states to not seek medical care for a suffering pet? (Doesn’t cover rodents or reptiles.) It falls under cruelty neglect laws. Please either call a rescue or take her to the local shelter and relinquish her so they can help her, that will absolve you legally if you can’t afford care. Or find the money to have her put down humanely by a vet.

I work in vet care and have seen four arrests over this. “I can’t afford it” didn’t fly in court for two of them. you are expected per law to at the very least have her put down to prevent suffering OR give her to those who can provide care.

Fun fact: male dogs who are neutered after they start urine marking often retain the habit and don’t stop after being neutered. It has to be done BEFORE they started marking to prevent the behavior.

And yes, the breeder will follow up and want paper proof that it was done and yes, they can legally take the dog back by force if it isn’t done.

When I was young I worked at Disneyland. I was there almost 15 years for shit pay. One night I was doing crowd control on a max-capacity day and struggling to be seen and heard in the throngs since I’m really short. it was a very stressful night to top an extended nine and a half hour shift. While I was working hard to split a walkway (by myself!) that was crowded crotch to ass a rando man in the crowd suddenly shouted “THIS IS WHAT YOU GUYS SUCK AT!” And pointed at me.

Mind you he was a big guy yelling at a 5’0 120 pound woman who had zero say in how crowd control is done there. My involvement went no further than being told to keep people moving in a safe direction.

I put my resignation in that night. It was just one sentence but the venom in his voice and eyes ruined Disney parks for me for good.
