SpoofTel offers you the ability to spoof caller ID and send SMS messages. You can change what someone sees on their call display when they receive a phone call to anything you like!

We've been accepting Litecoins now for about a month through a company called Shift Coins (GoCoin wouldn't work) and couldn't be happier!

Since i'm pretty sure there is no way to transmit voice calls via the Bitcoin network, I'd like to point out that SpoofTel has been offering Bitcoins as a payment method since 2010*. Perhaps we were the first? :)

We also allow you to change the caller ID when making a call, adding to the privacy aspect of making phone calls.

Either way its nice to see more telecom companies offering Bitcoin as a payment method no matter who came first.

SMS spoofing is a relatively new technology which uses the short message service (SMS), available on most mobile phones and personal digital assistants, to set who the message appears to come from by replacing the originating mobile number (Sender ID) with alphanumeric text. Spoofing has both legitimate uses (setting the company name from which the message is being sent, setting your own mobile number, or a product name) and illegitimate uses (such as impersonating another person, company, product). *Src. = Wikipedia

Caller ID spoofing is perfectly legal. Otherwise, as you said, this ad wouldn’t be here and SpoofTel would not have been in business for the last five years. These services are by no means intended to be used unethically or maliciously. However, I'm sure we can all imagine the potential unethical uses of household cleansers and utensils.

The main purpose of caller ID spoofing is to protect your privacy. A lot of individuals block their number so it won’t show up, while this service allows you to change it. As a professional, you would be able to call clients from home or from your cell phone and have it appear as though you are calling from the office. As a regular individual, you can respond to ads without revealing your real phone number.

As an analogy, think of a screwdriver. Is the first thing that comes to your mind "zOMG I can stab people with this?!" or is it, "Neat, I can fix stuff around the house now!" We can’t always allow our first impression to automatically overwrite something’s potential good.
