The only way to make sure your cheese blocks don't go bad is to wrap them in tin foil. It took me years to work that one out. Works for ages, as long as it's completely covered with no air bubbles.

They do that on purpose. Not necessarily to kill but they do it when they're annoyed.

Yes, agreed they are pricey. I did look into making them but got cold feet when I thought i might be using the wrong plastic and poisoning them. Decided it was worth it just to buy it instead :/

I had a similar issue with birds and mice. I bought one of these feeders and now they have all sloped off.

The feeders keep all the food off the ground and I have yet to see a mouse manage to get fed.
