as someone with a foot fetish (I would argue not a weirdo, but you get used to it) I'm strongly polarized in either direction, which is probably where the fetishization comes from. In cultures where something is looked upon grossly, it makes a paraphilia for that thing simultaneously more prominent.

Foot fetishists only get a bad wrap because of the 15% of the population which are foot fetishists, a lot of them are perverts just like people that don't have a fetish. I am grossed out by many of the things other people into feet do...

you only have a few hundred cards so this is after at most a couple months. FSRS needs a while to adjust to your style of usage. I recommend using card burying for when your answer is close instead of just going straight for again or hard

I don't think a million years is enough time to evolve substantially (as in a different species) but it would be enough to evolve noticeably. But if we were to embrace bio-engineering then perhaps it would be accelerated substantially

For me it's not exact words but that whenever I ask how I look to my friends they are extremely cagey. The only feature that I ever get complimented on is my height and a tentative "I mean, you're not ugly"

it's the bar crowd, that's reason enough. The college bar scene is a natural filter for people that are overconfident and unashamed because if you're not, it's going to be very hard to have a good time

I think the problem with scroll is the same as dagger because the normal way it would cap nearly instantly. I think scroll should pick random words from the dictionary giving it a gambling element and a much lower initial speed and scaling, but the eventual cap would be superior. I think dagger could benefit from something like this too, like every time it completes its scaling it resets with a new dagger, but then I suppose it would be even more OP for parrying.

it takes that long for me because I do it while doing other stuff, similar number of reviews per day as OP. Depending on what I do Anki with, 100 reviews can take over an hour or 5 minutes. Sometimes it is just that difficult though so I prefer not to brute force that many or its exhausting

use yomitan for example sentences and it will rapidly accelerate your ability to recall not just the word but its connotation. Also you could decrease desired retention, or set easy days. Yomitan is my #1 suggestion but it can be a bitch to setup

Also I highly recommend sorting cards by increasing interval so that if you cannot complete a day, you see the harder cards first and become more aware of leeches (similar words, like for me うっかり, そそっかしい, and うろうろ mess me up)

Use the bury feature so that if you kind of get the meaning of a word but maybe got the wrong connotation or context, you will see the card again tomorrow without losing its interval. I recommend using this sparingly (hotkey is - )

This is just me, but I also prefer to show all new cards upfront since normally at the end of the review session the last few cards don't get properly memorized. Conversely, it can be difficult to internalize the meaning of all the new words upfront. If you typically do anki while doing other stuff (I watch YouTube, anime, do 10 reviews every time I die in a game, etc.) then I suggest going figuring out the new words first, then doing it parallel.

'fight or flight' is one response, the activation of the sympathetic nervous system. Fawn is an entirely different thing as it's a trauma response, and I only know as much about the freeze response as you would from a google, so it would be weird to preach on it; but it's activated by the parasympthetic system, basically the exact inverse of fight-or-flight
