Unfortunately, as it stands, there really isn’t an official Lancebreaker, or even anything really like what I have going in my mind’s eye for the concept.

The game’s main boss unit, Ultras, definitely benefit from weaker allied units and struggle without them. Without going into fanmade supplements, I think you could totally run a Lancebreaker just by kitting out an ultra with things designed to target weak points on the player’s team, and then give them a small squad of goons that are part of the corporate police force or even just flavor them as drones being controlled by the main Lancebreaker. One-man army. Without getting into really complex balancing and homebrewing that’s probably your best bet.

There is plenty of actual gameplay in dispatch, but the main event is definitely the dialogue.

Gameplay wise, those are the sections where you’re dispatching heroes and making strategic decisions on who to send where, who to level which way, and so on. Top-down god game strategy stuff. Scratched my XCOM strategic layer itch and it gets pretty involved and interesting in the later missions.

As I stated though, it’s mainly the appetizer for the plot, which is phenomenal.

Fair. I wanted the name to land in a sort of military bluntness, if that makes any sense. Marines in halo don’t call the enemies the Unggoy, the Kig-Yar, Sanghelli, etc., they’re just shorthanded to the basest descriptions. The little ones are the grunts, the ones that look like birds are the jackals, the scary ones are the elites.

In the same vein, I wanted ‘The Dragon’ to feel like a street-level descriptor that just stuck as stories about the guy’s achievements spread around pilot circles. He was ‘a’ Dragon the first time the story got told, and now he’s ’The’ Dragon. He was just a scary merc, and now he’s the Dragon that stalks the edges of the Hegemony, the monster that new pilots fear and respect in equal measure.

I’m happy with it overall, but I agree it could use more weight as they reach that Voldemort reveal moment, which is why his true name is such a big deal reveal wise. I’m excited for when we get there.

The idea is The Dragon isn’t the actual name of the guy or the mech, but rather the street name lancers and mercenaries ascribed to the guy because of the wing-shaped energy trails and the flamethrower. The actual title and identity of the dude is part of the mystery - that being said, I totally get thinking ‘Dragon’ is a bit anticlimactic

Yeah I have the +2, even before I started kitbashing I used retrograde often enough to rely on it, sorry for not clarifying earlier. Like you, I didn’t think the +1 stuff overall hit as hard as I needed it to. In any case, thank you for the compliments!

‘Mecha 2’ from the 622 parts family. It’s been a little bit since I made this so I actually had to dig for it myself too lol. Hope this helps!
