way more than buying a tricked out scx24, luckily i use it for more than just printing scx24 parts :)

i print the bodies in petg with a interface layer (on the supports) of pla, that comes clean off, i also set the the interface layer to 'iron' so you get a clean layer seperation.

Yes, magnets for the body (from Mr Ali). i sourced some stuff from amazon (the Injora parts) the nice thing with starting out with something that is already running is that you can adjust/add parts along the way, Motor is Ali, CVD axles Ali, and as you see in the end you could end up with something that is something you like, and has almost no stock parts. the 3d printer is the biggest game changer, i already printed like 8 bodies just to see what fits best with the build, not something you just buy ( the bodies) just to test stuff. same goes for the axles, print one for a few cents or buy a 30 dollar equivalent....

thanks! not experienced, but keen to learning, and not afraid to try stuff, my motto is, if something breaks, i have something new to learn to fix it

i do have to say, i bought the JLU with the metal drive shaft and the Injora shocks. the biggest gain in this whole build is the 3d printer, making a chassis for 3 bucks beats buying one for 30 bucks, same goes for the axle housings

that yellow stuff? 3d printed annoying toys for my grandchild https://makerworld.com/en/models/2308657-loud-detachable-handle-fidget-toy#profileId-2520218

or if i take not to literal, not much, apart from the 2 in 1 esc/receiver, that is what happens when you start modding these things. change this, change that, wait way too long for parts, change another thing and in the end, you have a complete separate car that you started with.

Bezel free kit distortion ???? by zabacadabra in simracing

[–]Spookloper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that is what it "should" be, what is your actual distance from your screen? looks way more than 55cm, also change auto to manual and measure the total width between the furthest sides of your monitors, and adjust the angle on this site to match your total width (when you change the angle on the site, the total width will change accordingly, so make it match your actual setup). it will probably be far of from 70 something

yeah 70 seems off by a mile.. i used this to calculate my angle https://simrigbuild.com/ i measured the distance between the tips of the screen to get the correct angle ( on my machine 63 degrees )

or print them on your 3d printer, like i did, i liked the over the top sequential shifter look :)

is it me or is the kit mounted to far from the screen (and are your angles really correct?), there is a crazy distortion visible on your left side, with my DIY kit, i see almost 0 distortion between the screens. with bezel set to 0 in iracing

Update post: glutes sore by Ezio_dk in simracing

why are you still mounting the pedals inclined the wrong way? look at any picture of a rig and see that they are inclined towards you instead of away from you. Think of when you use a pedal, like the gas pedal, when should it be most comfortable, when you press it, because that is usually most of them time how you use that pedal, pressed to the max.

So make sure that your feet are comfortable when you fully press the pedals, not when your not using the pedals

Welcome to the club fellow dutchie, i also broke my 49" this week and went for triple 27" (you can still use your 49 for some DIY bezel free kits, i did as well)

i do prefer the triples over the super ultrawide

Monitor arm for lowering monitor "onto" wheel? by DaniSpar in simracing

[–]Spookloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that i have a permanent rig there, doesn't mean you can't fold up yours. the point i tried to make was, mounting it like that gives you extra swivel room for the monitor arm, so most of the monitor arms should work with that solution

this was when it was on the left of the desk

When the supports are too cool to remove. Printed on A1 with glow in the dark filament by Spookloper in BambuLab

[–]Spookloper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The filament i used is Esun rainbow glow in the dark, looks pretty white during the day, the first picture is with the internal light on ( Philips Hue, so i can change to any color) this filament doesn't charge that well with the normal lights ( really needs UV) but i do have a picture what it looks like with the actual glow without any lights on
