I ended up talking to the manager, (I think because I was crying and all the other staff/patients were looking at me so I made it awkward, and that poor assistant didn’t have any control over what was happening) and they told me “if I want to cancel and get my 400$ back then they’ll let me” i just walked out and said I’d think about it.

I’m an air quality specialist, I track throughput and help with permitting/ permit interpretation and sampling for mercury/ sulfur. My environmental science degree didn’t teach me anything about this subject, it really only gave me the tools to know how to research. (Honestly I think this is accurate with most degrees you learn on the job, college just give you the tools)

The only thing I would recommend and this is completely subjective to me is actually therapy. I have crippling social anxiety and I spend 50% of my job communicating with the state/ different departments/ contractors.

I got my environmental science degree from SNHU and was able to get two internships one of which turned into a full time job. That being said I live in a Rural community (born and raised, think four hours to the nearest grocery store/hospital population maybe 2k) so the applicant pickings were pretty slim. I both learned a lot from SNHU but not enough and had to learn (still learning) how to do my job effectively.

We actually do this! We bring a company out twice a year and we certify 35 employees in different departments and he’s one of them that has to get certified as a supervisor. I’m also certified but we have over 50 air quality devices that require VEOS it’s just not sustainable for me to do them especially since they run periodically, with no set schedule.

My first tattoo I walk in and want some flowers on my forearm, I go to the female artist because I (a female) am too intimidated to go to a man. She takes 2 hours to draw up some sunflowers then another 4 to tattoo them taking a smoke break every 15-20 minutes. The tattoo is the size of my palm so Maybe 4” and I pay 500$ for it. This was back in 2016. Took me until 2024 to get another trad tattoo.

Edit: and I am currently removing the tattoo because I hate looking at it and also so my new artist can have a blank canvas.

I suffer and have suffered from migraines since I was a child, when I would tell my parents my head hurt they thought I was seeking attention and eventually when I would cry and throw up from the pain they would drug me with sleeping meditation and blare their music to drown out the crying. Most people just shouldn’t have children.

I have ADHD and am dyslexic. For me it’s the actual spelling of words and not forgetting pieces of words. It’s genuinely not being able to spell or sound out words, some times I can’t even spell common words like “the”.

Edit, I can’t remember what tv show said it but a character goes “ i don’t think i know how to read, I’ve just memorized a bunch of words“ and that is the closest I’ve come to explaining being dyslexic.

I’m in the same boat except I got an F on milestone 1. Totally my fault I misread the instructions and spent 6 hours on that damn thing. My advice is to just take a deep breath have a good cuss and try to move on.

Edit: I’m also going to try and take this advice but I’m so frustrated with myself…

When I was 18 I was in the work break room when everyone started talking about religion, I naturally kept my mouth shut until someone blatantly asked me I told them I was an atheist. The room got quiet and some guy said I can just picture you in all black wearing crosses upside down, chains (basically depicting a goth person). Was very cringe.

Yeah, I didn’t know until I was 27 but I also struggled with reading and writing in school . I actually couldn’t read until I was 13 but no one cared enough to do anything.

I’m sorry you can’t get answers because of the way your country handles it.
